conservative documentary “2016: Obama’s America” stole the show from Sly Stallone’s bad-ass geezers and three opening films at the weekend box office, on its way to an estimated $6.2 million total for the three days.

The $5,940 per-screen average posted by "2016: Obama's America" was easily the best among films playing widely. "Expendables 2" stayed on top in its second week with $13.2 million averaging $3,950 from 3,355 theaters.

The documentary purports to tell what things will be like should the president be re-elected. Distributor Rocky Mountain Pictures expanded it into 1,091 theaters (from 169 last week) just in time to cash in on the buzz surrounding the Republican National Convention.

I can't see that clustering of Taft, "National Greatness" Republicans TR and McKinley, with scum like FDR, Clinton, and Barky. The theme falls apart somehow.

Some college kid handing out anti-Obama leaflets.

Saturday night on late-night TV I caught a glimpse of a black comedian making fun of Obama's diction and "pimp limp" walk. The audience was all black, it seemed, and numbers of the audience were eating up the parody, especially the walk.

Ping me when your library gets a copy (ours has 3 to 5 copies of each of Moore’s “documentaries”) or when it’s shown in your local government school (ours show informative videos like “Food, Inc.” or “Hardball”)

Saw it yesterday at the local multiplex. I never go there, but the movie will stay if enough people go to see it.

Very thoughtful movie with a lot of info. Find time to see it.

It may or may not be true that Obama was born outside the U.S. ... but everyone can *feel* that he is not one of us. He does not share our values, or our views, or our love for the U.S. He is truly an outsider, bent on re-making if not destroying what he does not value or understand or love.

I have lived in Hawaii for about 10 years and you can add it to your list. It is our least "American" state. His perspective is what I feared when he was elected. Raised in Indonesia and Hawaii, then straight into liberal academia, it's no wonder. BTW, his private school in Hawaii, Punahou, is outrageously expensive. Kindergarten cost as much as an average college tuition.

Will it ever be available on a CD? It really needs to be available that way so people who missed it or live in remote areas can see it and have it handy to share. The sooner the better.

IMO this is a very important pair of comments.

The power of a movie is astounding. It is also astounding that we can calmly and rationally lay out facts to friends and family, who love and respect us, and it does not get through to them. (I could understand not getting through if we were angry, or all wound up and overly emotional, or not presenting things clearly or logically.)

What is it that makes the movie so persuasive and makes us so unpersuasive? How can we harness some of that persuasiveness? We can’t afford to make a movie about every little thing!

(Similar thing happened to me long ago. Discussion with spouse about layout of landscaping. Not heated or angry at all, but just unable to convince spouse of a few things. Hired a professional landscaper. Landscaper agreed with me. Immediately spouse willing to go along with me and landscaper. Landscaper had very little education or training, but he was getting paid for it, therefore he was a “professional” and so was more credible than I was.)

Matthew 13:57
And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.”

I had the same situation with my wife, landscaping and water erosion problems. I was explaining to her how I would solve it, and she simply didn’t believe me that it would work. I didn’t have the time to do it anyway, and we hired it done, and the landscapers implemented exactly what I was proposing.

Borderlands syndrome. Stalin was Georgian, Hitler was Austrian, Napoleon was Corsican.

Most dictators come from outside.

It’s obvious he isn’t ‘American’.

Only the marriage to Michelle got him through the front door in the black community in Chicago. Even they knew he wasn’t one of them. I remember when they could smell a con man a mile away... No reality and the fantasy isn’t working.

I thought everyone talked to their neighbors, local business owners, bought gas and went food shopping. That’s all it takes to know what’s going on... delusional.

I'm quite confident that today JFK would find the morally dissolute, deceptive, totalistic, and incipiently despotic Barack Obama a horror show on wheels, and utterly repugnant.

Have you ever heard of his brother Ted?

Well, we will never know in any case. And I'm quite confident you're wrong. DemoRATS are evil to their very satanic core. Even if JFK would be repulsed in private by 0dumb0, in virtually every case, a RAT will always support & advance the socialist agenda, whether it is being lead by a so-called moderate or blue-dog demoRAT or a hardcore marxist leftist like 0dumb0. JFK had no hesitation to land Cuban patriots at the Bay of Pigs, and then withhold any air or naval or logistics support. He knew exactly what he was going to do when he promised support to the Cuban patriots and then allowed them to be butchered by Castro's thugs.
