Right-Wing Documentary '2016: Obama's America' Steals Box-Office Show

conservative documentary “2016: Obama’s America” stole the show from Sly Stallone’s bad-ass geezers and three opening films at the weekend box office, on its way to an estimated $6.2 million total for the three days.

The $5,940 per-screen average posted by "2016: Obama's America" was easily the best among films playing widely. "Expendables 2" stayed on top in its second week with $13.2 million averaging $3,950 from 3,355 theaters.

The documentary purports to tell what things will be like should the president be re-elected. Distributor Rocky Mountain Pictures expanded it into 1,091 theaters (from 169 last week) just in time to cash in on the buzz surrounding the Republican National Convention.

Went to see this about 10:30 this morn in Omaha-about 50 or so mostly middle to upper age people, which should be expected for that timeframe.

I hadn’t put a lot of thought into why Obama does the things he does but the theory of his anti-Colonialism attitude put forth by Dinesh and backed by plenty of evidence, is spot on IMO.

I don’t think this clown has any other agenda except bringing this country to it’s knees in any way he can, because he thinks we are an unjust and immoral country that has stolen the wealth from the rest of the world. His marxist crap is simply a method he uses to gladhand to delusioned voters so he can get the power to carry out his agenda of wrecking this country. In other words, I don’t really think he cares about redistributing the wealth to a bunch of serfs as much as I did before. They’re useful idiots that he needs to get him a 2nd term where he would single-handedly turn us into a bannana republic.

If Jack Kennedy were alive today he would vigorously kick Barky's ass.

I doubt that very much from the man (JFK) who allowed the Cuban patriots to be massacred at the Bay of Pigs, and was a staunch liberal demoRAT. If JFK were alive today, he would embrace the radical socialist marxism of 0dumb0 whole heartedly. For demoRATs, left wing socialist marxism IS their religion and the only thing that counts to them is simply to keep advancing & promoting their demonic socialist ideology, whether slowly or rapidly as in the case of 0dumb0.

That's Slick Willie over there with that bunch on the right, applauding, isn't it? Figures. Him and FDR.

Yes, but that is TR standing right there with FDR and Clinton, along with Wm. H. Taft and Wm. McKinley, two other "Progressive" Republicans like Theo. Roosevelt - appalling isn't it!?

"...great portrayal of a man who never took American History or Civics

He never saw a Memorial Day Parade, 4th of July fireworks, a county fair or a Thanksgiving dinner, but can go on for hours about how colonialist America got rich by robbing the third world of it's wealth.

Didn’t you just love the part where Rev. Wright admitted he was paid to shut up?

We saw the movie last night. The conjecture of Obama’s anti-colonialism motivation was interesting. It might help someone better understand the consequences of his policies, but it really isn’t necessary. When leaving the movie, it was obvious most of the people who watched it were older (not too many young people there). I’m curious about what others observed.

meh.

Of course Box Office Mojo, the website that reports box office totals or weekend estimates is not even including “2016:Obama’s America” in its totals. Not surprising.

New York Times says it’s not going to convince any Obama supporters to change their vote. Wishful thinking, as usual.

I saw it yesterday in Petaluma, CA, which is just about as blue as it gets. About 25 people or so in attendance for the matinee. Everyone clapped at the end but no cheering. As a Freeper, I didn’t find any big surprises in the movie, but I thought the visuals of India, Jakarta, Kenya etc. were very valuable. You could really *see* how different it is from here, and understand on a visceral level how Obama would have a completely different world view from most people who grew up here in the U.S.

I think this is why the birther issue has such legs. It may or may not be true that Obama was born outside the U.S. ... but everyone can *feel* that he is not one of us. He does not share our values, or our views, or our love for the U.S. He is truly an outsider, bent on re-making if not destroying what he does not value or understand or love.

I doubt that very much from the man (JFK) who allowed the Cuban patriots to be massacred at the Bay of Pigs, and was a staunch liberal demoRAT.

Actually, that you should say so is something of a minor success of Left propaganda, which always seeks to portray itself as a unified front sweeping majestically on tides of dialectical materialism to a teleological, self-summoning triumph. Which is hokum.

Jack Kennedy, his positions parsed out and laid out in detail, would lie on the very periphery of today's 'Rat party among the disaffected remnants of '60's liberalism who were the people Bill Clinton tried to lie to by becoming a member, and then leader, of the "blue dog" Democratic Leadership Conference. Positionally, JFK had more in common with Rick Perry, who left the 'Rat Party 20+ years ago, than with the fruits and nuts who exemplify the doctrinaire Prog wing today.

I'm quite confident that today JFK would find the morally dissolute, deceptive, totalistic, and incipiently despotic Barack Obama a horror show on wheels, and utterly repugnant.
