Tight races put undecided voters in control (OH:President 45-45, Senate 44-44)

The closest Dispatch Poll in modern history shows the races for president and U.S. Senate in a dead heat in battleground Ohio.

For the record, Republican Mitt Romney holds a “lead” of 0.22 percentage point over President Barack Obama. That’s a mere 2 votes out of more than 1,730 cast for president in the mail poll.

By comparison, Sen. Sherrod Brown has a landslide going over GOP state Treasurer Josh Mandel with a margin of 0.87 point. That’s a whopping 15-ballot bulge.

The poll’s margin of error is plus or minus 2.1 percentage points, so the takeaway is that the presidential matchup is tied at 45 percent and the Senate struggle at 44 percent among likely voters.

You know it’s bad when even the dead roll over and die on you.

This is very good news. In an election like this, the undecided vote always goes strongly for the challenger. If the incumbent doesn’t have their vote already, he is unlikely to get it between now and the election.

Undecided voters will vote for Romney, so if its THIS close Romney will take Ohio(but it will be close since this is in the margin of Dem voter fraud)

If Obama stays in the 40s in Ohio, or any other State, he will lose. The Undecideds go to the challenger 80%.

THIS IS GREAT NEWS.

Josh Mandel deserves a lot of consideration, but he’s not been given much of a chance. If he’s polling 45-45 now, that means he’s got a great oppty to win.

when you’re going to lose... and must resort to stuffing the ballot box... then you must control the polls in order to manage expectations

if the public’s expectations are that the election will be close... they will accept the results after you’ve stuffed the ballot boxes

Which is why we need to pour money into these close races. We need Ohio, both for the Presidency and the Senate. Mandel looks like a good guy. Plus, he’s 34 years old. He could help us hold Ohio for ages which is just what we need.

"undecided" is another way to tell a pollster, "NFW" for the incumbent.

If the poll says that it is tied is it actually really close ? Doesn’t a tie actually usually mean that we’re winning ?
