I don’t see why this is such a controversy.

We have let the media and democRATS set the terms.

I have no problem with what Akin said. Maybe not the smartest thing to say but certainly not a career ending statement.

Certainly plenty of democRATS have siad and done MUCH worse and the democRTS have lionized them.....Ted Kennedy anyone?

What’s the point of replacing Jesus’ name with Akin’s name?

Clearly, there has been collateral damage...

Let's see, Akin is spelled A-k-i-n. Romney is spelled R-o-m-n-e-y. Methinks even a moron can tell the difference.

Polls are like the weather in Missouri, wait ten minutes and it will change.

Oh, and don't respond to me if you think I'm defending either one of these people. I only know of Akin from the state controlled media, and the Republicans are going to nominate a liberal.

Sheesh.

Hey doofus back at ya, A) I'm a Missourian... B) having been in the congress that long, he should have had his talking points in better order on the subject... C) If what he spoke was truly his talking points, as it sounds like they were, his conservatism is of an inbred type, of which I want no part... D) Stupid is excusable only if it removes itself from visibility. So long as stupid stays in the spot light, onlookers will chortle, and murmur things like, "oh my gawd, can you believe this guy"... go ahead, stand with stupid, but be careful, stupid has a way of rubbing off...

If this poll is to be believed, then clearly, these voters are idiots. If they'd rather vote for ZerO, the man associated with a Congress critter who solicited minors for sex (and with many other horrid actions), than for Mitt, the guy associated with the party of Akin, they are simply looney.

Republican support for BOTH Romney and Akin has fallen, so your post does not support the point you think you are making.

Why doesn't it? The support Akin has lost is from independents and women while the support Romney is losing in Missouri is from social conservatives and, according to the polls, men.

The attempt to demonize Akin was one of the stupidest thing Romney and the GOP-e could have done. It gave Akin a backlash of sympathy that has convinced him to stay in the race and the attacks of angered social conservatives, who once again see how hostile Romney and the establishment are to social conservatives.

The anti-Akin, ABO, Romneybot crowd is getting exactly what it deserves.

“Conservatives are fracturing their own base in MO for NO reason. Get back on message! Quit falling for the Democrat propaganda machines tactics of diversion and distraction.”

Remember “I am not a witch!”?

The meme is SET, this dude has been PALINIZED, and the Mainstream media is giving the Democrats MIllions and millions of dollars in free air-time pimping the meme to the sheep, making Akin a NATIONAL ISSUE.

If there is one thing that drives me nuts about Freepers, it’s how many discount the POWER OF PROPAGANDA.

Just because WE are smart enough not to fall for it, because we are informed, doesn’t mean that the vast Majority of the sheeple who get their primary news from the Alphabet evening news shows, or Comedy Central are.

Your probably a very good guy, but here’s the deal... there is a reason why some kids get picked last when choosing sides for a baseball or football game. There’s something that nobody likes about this kid, typically because he can’t play... Akin can’t play at this level, he shouldn’t be given another chance, he needs to go cheer from the bleachers. Trying to come up with an imaginative way to find a win for Akin just isn’t feasable... gotta to know when to fold ‘em my friend, he’s playing a loosing hand, and unless he’s a good bluffer, too stupid for that, he’s toast...

McCaskill is the poster girl for Obamacare. She said Mo voted against Obamacare because they don’t understand it. Missouri voted against Obamacare 71/29 do the math. This is temporary.

Look on the bright side.At least there was no slippage in the black vote for Romney after the Akin brouhuha. Oh that’s right, there can be no slippage when the number is already zero.

“Does anyone seriously think that anybody will remember who Akin is a month from now?” the enemy media is making SURE we remember it, the Democrats are planning all their Convention Media Coverage around it!

Do you still remember Mark Foley?
How about “I am not a witch!”?

Here's the thing. In a time long ago and a land far, far away, we were taught that when ambushed, it was imperative to face the ambush and break it or the alternative was not good.

It is the same here. Akin, whether by design or incompetence walked into an ambush.

By deserting him and throwing him under the bus cannot and does not enhance the conservative, Republican situation or cause.

By calling for his departure, how does that solve the problem? How does that insure victory? Does a replacement candidate ensure victory?

The answer is, absolutely not!

What it does insure that conservatives and Republicans can't be trusted to back up their candidate. It ensures a lack of confidence and a trail of failure for which the conservatives and the Republican party is famous for.

I don't know how much more succinctly I can explain it. But, I do know this, if Akin is going to lose, then his replacement is going to lose as well.

I’m a social conservative too, so don’t pretend you speak for all social conservatives. I’m a lot angrier at Akin than I am at Romney. Akin’s going to lose an easy seat, and that may just give us permanent Obamacare.

Because of Romney's attack on Akin, perhaps? A reinforcement of the Romney's liberal credentials, just in time.

That's what I would think. To use my neighbor's analogy, "That grenade wasn't going to hurt anybody else until the dumbass threw himself on it to show how brave he was."

LMAO! Very true. It was quite stupid for Romney to get into this mess himself....so far the only good thing I knew about Romney was that he was careful. It is not impossible and woudd be quite funny if Akin wins at the end, while Romney loses MO.
