A Chicago-area official apologized after saying former President Ronald Reagan deserves a special place in hell for his part in stepping up the war on drugs.
Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, a Democrat, said her language Tuesday was inflammatory, but stood by her criticism about the failure of the war on drugs to end illegal drug use or sales in this country.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Preckwinkle was defending the city of Chicagos recent move to decriminalize possession of small amounts of marijuana, allowing police officers to write tickets instead of make arrests. She said drug treatment should be part of the health care system, not criminal justice and said Reagan deserves a special place in hell for his role in making drugs political. Reagan, who died in 2004, was born in Illinois.
Preckwinkles remarks prompted gasps from the audience, the newspaper reported.
What? You didnt like that? she responded.

Is she f**king serious? Surely she’s not this dumb.
Chicago values
Which Republican should run against Preckwinkle, in 2014? I hope that Michael Schroder (the Wheeling Township Supervisor), Ruth O’Connell (a Wheeling Township trustee and the Wheeling Township GOP committeeman), and Patrick O’Donahue (a New Trier School Board member and 2010 county board candidate) will run.
How about Dan Proft or Bill Kelly?
It has to be someone prominent enough that people have heard of them or their chance of winning will be rounded down to 0% instead of rounded up to 1%. A school board member may as well be a potted plant.
Maybe find a millionaire willing to spend a buttload of his own money on blanketing us in TV ads or find a White democrat willing to switch to RINO, that’s probably the only way to have a chance to actually remove this so called lady.
Yes, either Dan Proft or Bill Kelly would be a great candidate.
