No his candidacy is dead. It is time for him to resign from the GOP and withdraw. Let somebody else carry the torch.
10 point deficits are rarely made up in two months, unless video of McCaskill setting kittens on fire turns up.
If this dufus is so damn wonderful , why is McCaskill supporting him??? DUH!!!!!!!!!
His voting record dosent mean crap IF HE ISNT THERE TO VOTE!!
Give it up... HE IS TOAST and might cost us the election.
LOL. You really believe that nonsense?
No one cares about his voting record - he is toxic.
I swear - some people on this site must live in a cocoon.
“It’s a negative bump. We see bumps all the time. They level out......”

You may have your head firmly planted in the same stretch of sand that Akin has firmly buried his head. I see that you’re posting your list of bullet points in many threads.
It’s interesting to see that someone who, based upon his/her posts on this forum, wants to do everything possible to discourage votes for the Republican presidential/vice presidential ticket is now also doing everything in his/her power to keep a sure loser on the ticket as the Republican candidate in Missouri—a state where it should have been a piece of cake to defeat the Democrat incumbent.
Is your current “glee level” as high as that of the folks who are OPENLY in the McCaskill camp?
No. It won't. You can flash that "Todd Akin on the Issues" list here on FR every day until Nov 6, but it's not going to help him with the voters in MO. He is going to lose this race badly, and there is a major risk of losing a chance to take the Senate.. AND.. now the top of the ticket is likely going to have some unforeseen trouble.
Oh, yeah, a freaking 19 POINT NEGATIVE SWING is a bump? You have got to be kidding me.

Unfortunately, you can’t vote in the Senate unless you are elected.
Unfortunately, all that is balanced out by one quote: If its a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.
That’s right up there with Rep. Hank Johnson’s quote about the island of Guam: “My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize.”
Statements like these make voters believe (rightly or wrongly) that the speaker is—to put it bluntly—too stupid to hold elected office. Not misinformed; not mistaken; stupid.
You will never get a majority of voters in a statewide race to vote for someone they feel is too stupid to hold office.
Like it or not, Aiken has placed this brand on himself, and the damage can’t be undone—ever.
How is any of that going to matter when Todd Akin is sitting at home while Claire McCaskill votes consistently against conservatism in the US Senate for the next six years? There’s a good reason why McCaskill spent $2 million of her own campaign cash to help Akin win the GOP nomination.
Please Perry Akin please stop posting here and just tell Dad to step aside .
When I was 16, on the day before the 1964 election I believed in my heart that Goldwater could still win. The next day taught me something about political reality. No, it is not just a little negative bump. It is political reality. He may have the best voting record of any Republican, but he has as much chance of winning as the Los Angeles Rams have in winning the next Super Bowl. Yes, there is no Los Angeles Rams. That’s the point.
This issue is going to be used across the country. It is going to do damage to conservatives and the pro-life movement. He is an arrogant and egotistical ass. It needs to go away now. He needs to go away now. It is unfair. The media is unfair. But your heart is not allowing you to see political reality.
Add that to the dictionary for the definition of delusion.
Do you believe the Houston Astros can still win a wildcard spot in the National League?
What difference does it make where he stands on the issues when he has made himself completely unelectable?
I have held judgment until now but I'll be short: Akin is very likely going to lose, and he should drop out now. It's unconscionable to carry on like this.
