If it’s a legitimate poll, the Republican body should find ways to try to shut that whole Akin thing down.
To: Choose Ye This Day
Yes and the pressure for him to quit behind the scenes is going to be enormous. He’ll be gone like Anthony Wiener was.

There are many opportunities for Senate seats this year. The problem is that BA (before Akin) we were favored to take the Senate, since this seat was “likely R”. Now it’s “likely D”. So we probably have about even odds to take the Senate now, instead of being the prohibitive favorites like before.
I suggest checking out RCP’s Senate races page.
To: nhwingut
If this asshat gets out of the race now, then I pledge to stroke a check to the Missouri GOP to help cover the cost of new ballots. Otherwise, I will stroke a check instead to whatever third party candidate runs against Akin's ego. America can't take another two years of Harry Reid as Senate Majority Leader.
If Akin were really pro-life, then he would do what it takes to ensure that McCaskill doesn't win. As it turns out, Akin is far more pro-Akin than he is pro-life.

That election was lost the day he won the nomination. He was pre-destined to say something stupid at anytime.

This dummy needs to get out of the way. He screwed up. It’s not about him. Most politicians are self focused and egotistical by nature; lets hope this guy wakes and acts like a patriot instead.

From my reading of the Missouri law, I think he has to hang in there about three more weeks. Otherwise, he can only be replaced if he dies or is ruled ineligible for the office. I could be wrong as it is rather convoluted.

All Akin had to do to win was keep his damned mouth shut for 10 weeks. He couldn’t even manage that.

Akin and his type are delusional and need to realize this freak show is going to take us over the cliff with him.
Akin and his supporters will blame this on the "party bosses" for not supporting him. It was them that cost him a 21 point swing (from up 11 to down 10).
Nothing to do with his theory on vagina goalies making kick saves on incoming sperm pucks.

Well of course they won't. If a Dem had said the exact same thing; wouldn't most R's use it to bash the person as being a woman hater and insensitive?

Plus he has to pay to reprint the ballots, but maybe the RNC will kick in for that...
To: so_real
No his candidacy is dead. It is time for him to resign from the GOP and withdraw. Let somebody else carry the torch.
