The 2012 RNC is about to get faaaaabulous!
The gay conservative group GOProud will hold its Homocon 2012 event following the Republican National Convention in Tampa.
"Homocon 2012 will be the must have ticket for the RNC," the executive director and cofounder of GOProud, Jimmy LaSalvia, says on the group's website.
The event will include a number of conservative guest speakers, including Grover Norquist; Breitbart.com contributors Dana Loesch and Mike Flynn; and a former chair of the American Conservative Union and vice chair of CPAC, David Keene.
GOProud proudly proclaims on its website that it is the only gay conservative group to endorse Mitt Romney. We're not sure if that's because it is the only gay conservative group in existence (Log Cabin Republicans, can you hear us?) or because Romney's record on gay rights is shitty.
Says LaSalvia about Mitt: "We think that jobs, the economy, health care, retirement security, and taxes are all 'gay issues,' and on every single one of those issues, Mitt Romney is light-years better than President Obama."
And yet, ironically, Mitt Romney is still stuck in the Stone Age when it comes to gay equality.
GOProud cofounder and chief strategist Christopher R. Barron says that Homocon is a place where the GOP can showcase that it is totally down with the gays (except that it's not, in any way shape or form, but hey... LET'S PARTAY!): "Homocon 2012, like our previous events, will be more than just a party. It is an opportunity to show where the conservative movement is -- and where it is going -- in regards to the inclusion of gay people."
Brietbart.com -- who figures prominently in Homocon 2012's festivities this year -- insists that Romney is a friend to gays because, as this "ON THE RECORD" post says, he totally treats them humanely. Which, we suppose, is a step up from the way he treats dogs.
Yet, the record shows, over and over again, that Romney is far from being a friend to the gay and lesbian community:
-- RoboRomney believes marriage should exist only between a man and a woman.
-- He urged the adoption of a Massachusetts constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.
-- He kept the fight to delay same-sex marriage in his state going. 'Cause there ain't no quit in RoboRomney!
-- ''If I have to choose between gay marriages and civil unions, I'll choose civil unions every time.''
-- Keep your meddling government away from my money! The right for two consenting same-sex adults to get married? MEDDLE AWAY!
-- You gays get out of my state, and take your gayness someplace else!
-- When gay marriage was made legal in Massachusetts, Mitt was the first to speak out against it before the Senate. Oh, that Mitt's a tenacious one!
-- Romney's statement to the Senate in that hearing: "Marriage is not an evolving paradigm, as the court said, but it is a fundamental and universal social institution that bears a real and substantial relation to the public health, safety, morals, and general welfare of all the people of Massachusetts." Them gays are gonna get married and gay up my state!
-- Oh and Romney blocked an antibullying guide because the guide had the words bisexual and transgender in it.
The GOProud folks might be all fired up to support their man Mitt. But ask Mitt to support them? They're hosed.
Homocon 2012 will be held August 28.
The "queens" will all have spent much more on their frocks than I have to spend and I just hate that!

Send in your RSVPs NOW before it’s too late!!! It’ll be a gay old time I’m sure.
Be sure to steer clear of the men’s room, the “ladies” room as well.
You just won the "Gay Politics for $1000, Alex" question.
This is all about spoiling, and smearing, and jamming -- black propaganda from the heart of Hell.
Thot Aikin is Karl Rove's boy (to the tune of $millions), whereas Steelman, who lost the primary, is a Tea Party person.
I'm not to the bottom of it yet (so to speak), but I think internal Missouri divisions are behind some of that.
Not sure what Aikin was trying to accomplish when he popped off, but he sure didn't have his ducks in a row, when he brought up a MAJOR 'Rat theme and message to barren women (who contribute heavily to the DNCCC and are Wasserman-Schultz fangirls) and tried to walk through a fresh thought. He didn't have his position prepped, IMHO, and tried to wing it on the spur of the moment -- and fell flat.
You guys have become democrats. Not one of you has even the tiniest crumb of courage and have earned the beating you’re going to get.
Try reading a post before popping off next time.
Our choice is between communism and the abortion/sodomite agenda...swell.
Ha, I guess so. Sure looks that way. ;-)
What a freak show...
Why do you say that? Aren't conservatives for SMALLER GOVERNMENT? I know one of the owners of the HoneyPot and he is LIBERTARIAN, because as much as he agree on the REPUBLICAN, he can't get it that the GOP, should stay out of people BEDROOMS -- with consenting adults.
Well, of course the government has to stay out of what consenting adults do in their bedrooms. Pity the gays didn’t leave it at that-— they push an agenda of same sex marriage (they want government approval) and teaching about their lifestyle to public school children through fed dept of education(not exactly the bedroom ).
