Mark Levin is clearly not happy with Akins decision, saying that he put himself over that of the country at a time when we are trying to win the Senate with the country at stake. And how we have to try and win the Senate with a weaker, wounded candidate who did it to himself.
But at the end of the day Levin says we still have to fight to beat McCaskill and if its with Akin, then so be it we must support him.

I agree, but isn't it too late now? Wasn't there a deadline of 5pm ET today?
There’s nothing to take up, she wrote out a cogent, well-backed article that identifies why Akin is such an absolute halfwit.
Ok. I have been all over the map on this, with him and against him. He set off the bomb, that was the first mistake. Personally, I attended a meet the candidate night that was held a month ago. At this meeting Todd Akin attended. Claire was invited, did not attend, did not send a representative, but sent a person to film Todd Akin. We did not know until afterward or we would have not allowed it. My point is this.. how many commercials with parsed soundbites do Claire and Co have upcoming besides what Mr. Akin said on Sunday. I suppose it comes with the territory (spying on and profiling the candidates), but if I was in his shoes I would go to my grave trying to defeat her for the dirty play. You cannot be filmed if you do not attend the meetings and having someone follow you everywhere you go puts the pressure on. So, additional commercials will come and it will be difficult for sure. Our part is to support him and defeat Claire anyway. This is the election where the Democrats need to be completely demoralized for supporting Obama, Obamanomics, Obamacare, and Obama dictates on abortion and contraception. Besides that, sometimes being a man is the most important thing you can do for your family, state, country. Enough of my rambling for the moment.
You single-issue voters would rather support a like-minded loser than do the sensible and pragmatic thing.
Amen! It's getting hard to find these days, but I'm sure glad there are some common sense-minded FReepers like you still left here... :-)
Me neither.
There are SO many good people in Missouri. Couldn't they have run somebody better than Akin??
This is just obtuse. The support for Chick-Fil-A happened because various mayors threatened a business because of the personal views of its CEO.
In this case you have a moronic politician who went out and said one of the dumbest thing’s any politician has ever uttered. The anti-abortion forces aren’t “stirred up”, like most everyone else, they are embarrassed. This guy gives a bad name to the entire prolife movement.
Rape is Rape, period.
You’re parsing words like Slick Willie did...
“....that depends on what the definition of is is.”
Sarah Palin seems pretty ticked off that Steelmen wasn't elected in the MO primary...
So, he's a Huckster. He's our Huckster.
LOL, Sarah Palin got fired up, “NO, He should GET OUT, he should have done that TODAY!”
The idea that the Republicans winning the Senate back means saving the country is foolish. If you’re not willing to fight for the traditions you hold dear then it really doesn’t matter who holds office. Ultimately, Obama or Romney doesn’t really matter. Not much will change. Learn the lessons of the past. This whole incident is a good indicator of how things will be. Suddenly, no one cares what this guy (AKIN) actually stands for. Everyone s just arguing about the sound byte of the day. Funny how everyone on this site and others always follow behind the media they constantly mock (media deathwatch in words only)
Sarah is pretty damn angry (like I am) that Akin did not step down today. I've never seen Palin this ticked off before... wow!
Palin’s on fire on Greta.
Palin says he needs to know when to fold ‘em. When all support is pulled, there’s no chance of winning.
She’s advocating for Steelman to go third party if that’s what it takes to win the seat.
Palin was emphatic and convincing. Palin can be a king (queen) maker in this race if she decides to get involved.
Palin/Steelman would be unbeatable.
I’ll have to read the statute to determine what’s needed for third party.
Go get ‘em, Sarah and Sarah.
We’ll see. . . . we haven’t yet heard from the great silent majority. Even if the anti-abortion forces are embarrassed by Akins, will that make them vote for the pro-abortion candidate in place of the anti-abortion candidate?
Akins may be an embarrassment, but he’s ours, not theirs.
Sorry to be so obtuse!
McConnell and Cornyn are not the saviors of the country.
Ahhhhh, shadup, Levin. He’s who we got now. Just like we got the embarassments McLame followed by Willard.
That won’t matter to the single-issue voters....all they seem to care about is abortion.
This election is about jobs and the economy.
Silly socons....they’re easily led and get played like Steinways by these fools like Akin and Huckabee.
Often its amusing to see ‘em go down because most people don’t care for zealotry. But this time its too important to let these blind fools anywhere near the steering whee3.
Libs find the Constitution irritating.
