Foster McCollum White Baydoun (FMW)B, a national public opinion polling and voter analytics consulting firm based in Michigan and representing the combined resources of Foster McCollum White & Associates (Troy, Michigan) and Baydoun Consulting (Dearborn, Michigan) conducted a telephone-automated polling random survey of Michigan registered and most likely November 2012 general election voters to determine their voting preferences.
In what will be a significant blow to Democratic campaign efforts, native son Mitt Romney has climbed into the lead in Michigan's Presidential contest. The naming of Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan has delivered a targeted affect on the Michigan and Midwest campaign dynamics. We ballot tested the Presidential candidates and we also tested the following two areas of initial campaign impact and awareness:
Congressman Ryan's impact on voters' decision to vote for Mitt Romney. Congressman Ryan's controversial 2012 fiscal budget plan and voters support or opposition to the plan. It is our conclusion that the results to these questions will help initially either validate Ryan's selection or provide messaging for Democrats that Ryan is not acceptable to the voters. As our data outlines, currently Romney and Ryan are received positively enough to help vault Romney into the lead. Our aggregate findings for this section are as follows:
State-wide Aggregate Results (Weighted to projected age, gender & ethnicity of electorate, percentages do not all equal 100%) 1733 Respondents MOE +/- 2.35%
Question 1:

Things were looking great until a Idiot Akin opened his Mouth
But the liberal Republicans are telling us that we have to dump a patriotic conservative American because it will cause every seat to go to Democrats...roll eyes. Go Akin! Santorum/Akin 2016....The ONLY hope for America!!!!
The best news in recent polling is Romney doing well in these traditionally blue states. Even if he loses Michigan, PA, etc, Obama is going to have to spread his ad budget and can’t concentrate all their money in the swing states. My feeling is he only carries Ohio if he is able to sink a big chunk of his spending there. He’s going to have to ‘spread it around’ a lot to keep his base states.
Enjoy Obama-Care
It seems that every cycle we get polls that show the GOP doing well in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Washington. Then the GOP spends time and money on them, only to lose by 5 - 7 %
This same polling outfit also shows Pete Hoekstra with a +2 over Debbie Stabenow. If that’s in any way accurate that’s a great development!
Nope, just the Missouri Senate seat. Only an idiot would have thrown a lifeline to McCaskill, and that's exactly what Akin did.
ain’t that the truth.
Every nickel of funding for the Akin campaign should be redirected to the Hoekstra effort to unseat Debbie Stabenow.
Are you saying that Conservatives believe that a woman’s body will reject a baby from a legitimate rape? I don’t think even Santorum would believe that fantasy. This guy is an idiot and he has single handedly probably cost the GOP control of the Senate.
PREFECT!
Obama’s major campaign ad effort in southern Ohio has been Medicare, Coal, and Romney Taxes. I’ve seen his AARP Medicare ad more than any other. At about half that rate I see his “Romney should pay/reveal taxes too” ad. The “Romney hates coal, Obama loves it” ad ran a few times late last week in the early hours.
The coal ad seems particularly tailored for southern Ohio, and it’s an indication that Obama is in trouble, especially in Strickland’s old district to the east of me. Those people would normally have voted for a democrat with horns, so there was never any need for special buys to appeal to them.
I assume the AARP ad is everyplace as Obama seeks to peel as many conservative seniors off as possible from their normally conservative voting habits.
The “Romney Taxes” ad has to be appealing to the entitlement base that loves their security net. I don’t know if that indicates a problem, or if it is just standard ad campaign stuff. If I found it was only in normally conservative regions like this, then I’d bet Obama is feeling a backlash even among the handout folks. My conversations with them indicates they’ve picked up the conservative meme that “obama is destroying the country”.
That doesn’t mean anything to a generational democrat, though. They sound conserative ‘til they enter the anonymity of the voting booth. So many of them, though, just aren’t registered to vote.
Of course, maybe voters are tired of Malloy acting like Obama, so they decide to vote Republican this year. (I doubt it thou)
Akin blew it. But, are you confusing Missouri with Michigan?
Or, do you think Akin’s blunder is going to cost Michigan too?
Obama’s campaign is already essentially broke. So far Mittens is playing obama like a fiddle.
Well, you have to remember that Mitt’s dad was governor of Michigan from 1963-1969.
Mitt went to school in the Metro Detroit area and still has some family in the area.
That is a bigger boost than for most candidates. Hopefully, that will help him pull out a win in November.
This is the same pollster who has Obama losing to Romney in Florida by 15 points...
LITTLE WONDER the commie OBAMUGABE is trying to change the subject to Todd Akin.
In 2008 it took a once in a generation financial crisis in September to make the difference.
In 2000 it took an October surprise to lose the popular vote.
It will take something similar.
“Akin blew it. But, are you confusing Missouri with Michigan?
Or, do you think Akins blunder is going to cost Michigan too?”
It wont.
It’s just the initial panicking posts from people that spend all day watching CNN and thinking that they really control the election.
The wave of negative ads from Obama this summer.
The MSM attacks on Ryan after he was picked.
Their wailing over Romney’s tax returns.
All produced the same belly-aching from the usual suspects until it petered out after one week. People got back to other things and the MSM is off to try to cover for the next wave of bad economic reports.
