COMMENTS: Here is the real problem. My own investigation reveals the following:
1 - one night he was drunk and partying with young women; he drove off a bridge, ran away like a coward, did not get help for 8 hours, and let the young woman die in an air pocket in 6 feet of water
2 - at a conference, he brutally bit and raped a nursing home operator and told her to put ice on it
3 - in his office, he assaulted a woman pleading for a job whose husband had just died
4 - on Easter Sunday, he showed off his Bible for photo ops in the morning, then got a BJ from an intern in his office right after church
5 - he exposed himself to a woman brought to his hotel room by troopers and told her to kiss it
6 - he gave government jobs in exchange for sex
7 - he had thugs slash a woman's tires, kill her cat, and threaten the lives of her children if she testified in a sexual harassment case
8 - he and his brother had sex and cocaine parties with underage girls
9 - behind the scenes, his evil satanic wife threatened women who might come forward and cause him grief

You know what our problem is? We do JUST what the Rats do. We don’t address our own issues, we point at them and say, “they did it too” or “they were worse”.
Aikin must go, I don’t care what ANYONE else did.
The press gave all three of these democrats passes...
Please don’t misunderstand. He has to go. That Missouri seat is too important, and he just blew it. I just wanted an opportunity to stick it to their side for proudly standing up for a rapist.
Juvenile and disgusting post! Akin made a bad choice with his comment. This is pathetic!
Do you really understand the purpose of the post? Those who condemn Akin gladly stood up for the rapist in chief and for the guy who let a girl die after he drove off the bridge.
Time for this anti-semitic/pro-terrorist/socialist in England to go too?

Don’t go away mad Todd, just...please, go away. Somebody make him an offer he can’t refuse.
If Akin does not go, is anyone looking to launch a conservative as an alternative? If the national senatorial campaign shuts off he money, and the super pacs stop their support, they could shift funds to a credible independent that has a chance.

EXCUSE ME??? “...a bad choice with his comment”? Get your head out of your a** dude. Every Republican with any character at all is calling for this guy to withdraw from the race or he will cause the following:
1. The McCaskill broad to be in the Senate for another 6 years kissing Obama’s butt and
2. Possibly cause the GOP to not retake control of the Senate and let Harry Reid continue to hold this nation hostage and
3. Hurt the Romney/Ryan campaign.
Aikin blew it. He needs to get the hell out or be the most hated man in America. BTW, why don’t you “practice” what you “preach” in your tagline. Talk is cheap!
Not sure. I believe I heard that he has until 5pm tomorrow. I suspect that means that the GOP could still choose another candidate for the ballot. After that, it would take a court action. If someone in Missouri knows for sure, please check in.
A write-in candidate or another Independent would be very problematical.
Three months to go, cut him loose. Pay him off, make him go away. Sorry Mizzou, this is bigger than you. Claire is TOAST against anyone other than a man who cannot finesse a basic question about rape and abortion.
Akins certainly propounded a novel sounding theory: that if the woman hated the sex, she’s less likely to conceive. Who taught HIM the birds and bees?
#10 he voted to let babies that survived an abortion to die on a slab; voting for a state bill disallowing medical assistance.
1) It doesn’t matter what any Dem did. Akin did wrong, and is stupid. GOP’ers actually police their own, demanding accountability. Dems simply try to avoid all consequences of violating laws or ethics. If it can be got past the voters it is OK. For them it is always “what he/she had in her heart” rather than what he/she actually did or said. The end always, always, always, always justifies the means in the Dem playbook.
2) Akin’s only shot at any historical significance is to become a footnote in future encyclopedia articles on Barack Obama, the import of which would be why BO was elected to a 2nd term. Is that what he really wants? Because that is his only possibility in continuing as the GOP candidate.
3) Akin could demonstrate real wisdom, selflessness, and love of country by getting out gracefully.
4) Given the stupidity already demonstrated, Akin will probably go ahead into the general election, do a Christine O’Donell/Sharon Angle vis-a-vis the state of Missouri and, at the same time, damage the national ticket.
This is one of the biggest screw ups I have ever seen in a Senate race. He may cost the GOP control of the Senate. I think what he might have meant to do is distinguish statutory rape and violent rape (which he called “legitimate” to distinguish it from statutory where there is consent).
“Those who condemn Akin...”
Honestly, today I think it is WE who are condemning him. And we are doing it because he is about to KILL us politically.
You want to talk about rape & abortion? Akin’s giving us both in spades!
Sorry, if that was offensive, but I’m about at the end of my rope.
Of course what happened with Ted Kennedy was an outrage and a disgrace, but I must point out that Chappaquidick DID prevent him from ever running for president. Now, he SHOULD have gone to prison, but the fact of the matter is the man is dead now so what are we going to do?
Clinton, also a complete disgrace, but again, what are we going to do? Do we really, really want to support a raft of Teddy the Ks, Bill Clintons and Joe Bidens on our team?
Akin is dead too, politically and from the neck up.
In another year maybe this “gaffe” wouldn’t have been so, so awful. (I will re-iterate what I read elsewhere: iron-clad rule of politics “legitimate” and “rape” can never appear within 15 yards of each other.) But this year, THIS YEAR? With the BS war on women meme from the dems? When McCaskill is toast (or was)?
Akin needs to get out. He needs to get out. He needs to get out.
I don’t care if you say we are “playing their game”. The fact of the matter is THEY are going to play their game from now until November. So, if all we want to hear is “legitimate rape” from now until then Teddy the A. has got to go.
Tommorrow, 9 AM at where ever the appointed location is.
If he fails to withdraw, the blood is on his hands.
“Aikin must go, I dont care what ANYONE else did.”
FRiend....when you are a resident of Missouri and vote there, then you might have the right to say if he MUST go. Until then, you have NO SAY in Missouri politics. The GOPe through the RNC have NO SAY in Missouri politics. The voters of the state properly elected him. He IS conservative and very pro-life.
So, to you and all the other wailing cats here on FR, this resident of Missouri is telling you to shut your yaps and let us deal with this as WE see fit. IF the people here still support him, that is OUR business. IF the people here don’t, that is OUR business between US and HIM. Stay out of it.
I am more disgusted with the trashing of this man (BTW - I voted for another in the primary than him) by the WIN AT ALL COSTS CROWD than I am with the pick of Romney. Although Jim Robinson may have caved in, I still strongly oppose Romney and will not vote for him. However, I’m liking Akin more all the time. He is standing up to idiots from outside his state (and some in) from the establishment of the GOP.
Folks IF Akin steps down then the GOP establishment get to pick who will run...NOT THE VOTERS - that is how it works. That just isn’t right. I will have no part of that. So, until he quits, I WILL support Akin no matter what insults are hurled...and I will continue to oppose Romney, no matter how many betray their word and trust people have placed in them.
Yes, thank God the rnc stepped forward to throw the socon under the bus! And not a moment too soon!
I hope that the GOP comes up with a quick poll to show this dunce that he does not have a chance. If Akin goes ahead, he will be a pariah and he will be worse than finished in politics.
