You know what our problem is? We do JUST what the Rats do. We don’t address our own issues, we point at them and say, “they did it too” or “they were worse”.

Aikin must go, I don’t care what ANYONE else did.

Please don’t misunderstand. He has to go. That Missouri seat is too important, and he just blew it. I just wanted an opportunity to stick it to their side for proudly standing up for a rapist.

“Aikin must go, I don’t care what ANYONE else did.”

FRiend....when you are a resident of Missouri and vote there, then you might have the right to say if he MUST go. Until then, you have NO SAY in Missouri politics. The GOPe through the RNC have NO SAY in Missouri politics. The voters of the state properly elected him. He IS conservative and very pro-life.

So, to you and all the other wailing cats here on FR, this resident of Missouri is telling you to shut your yaps and let us deal with this as WE see fit. IF the people here still support him, that is OUR business. IF the people here don’t, that is OUR business between US and HIM. Stay out of it.

I am more disgusted with the trashing of this man (BTW - I voted for another in the primary than him) by the WIN AT ALL COSTS CROWD than I am with the pick of Romney. Although Jim Robinson may have caved in, I still strongly oppose Romney and will not vote for him. However, I’m liking Akin more all the time. He is standing up to idiots from outside his state (and some in) from the establishment of the GOP.

Folks IF Akin steps down then the GOP establishment get to pick who will run...NOT THE VOTERS - that is how it works. That just isn’t right. I will have no part of that. So, until he quits, I WILL support Akin no matter what insults are hurled...and I will continue to oppose Romney, no matter how many betray their word and trust people have placed in them.

Like Hell we do.

First explain what “illegitimate rape” is, and then make your case why Akin “must go” for advancing data and an opinion on “legitimate rape”.

Akin must go because of a poorly chosen adjective, but others get a pass for violating and killing other humans?

No, Akin must go because the Right is a collection of #ing cowards that betray their own upon the slightest gaffe, tasteless joke, or folksy rambling.

PLEASE tell us what sin Akin committed in line with the Democrat scandals? I can't remember the last time any Republican OR Democrat was denied funding from the party over an accidental verbal gaffe.

The gaffe is not what this is about. The extremely strong reaction is because the GOP establishment does not want abortion discussed in this election. They don't want to admit to their base that they are pro-abortion, and they don't want to be on the record as being anti-abortion, because then they might have to actually stand up for that cause after being elected. For the GOP elites, the less said about abortion, the better, because they passionately want the status quo to remain on that issue.
