Mouton, you don’t understand, like the Carnahans, we hate McCaskill with a passion. She will carry, StL, KC, Springfield and MAYBE the ‘burbs of those cities, but she won’t carry the bootheel or any other rural area. This is a case of, if you don’t understand what the playing field, its better to not say anything.

We recently had a primary where Mr. Akin easily won.

I don't think winning 36-30-29 in a six way race is "easily winning".

At the 3pm ET newsbreak, Fox News Radio is claiming Akin says he WILL NOT step down as Scott Brown called him to do.

Obama's audio was played, McCaskill's comments repeated but no mention of Romney's statement.

The MO GOP need to give Akin the PUSH he deserves.

Senator Johnson of Wisconsin is a RINO now? Freepers are RINOs now?

This is now international news (in Denmark for sure and likely elsewhere).

It's gone far beyond your little state of Missouri.

Doesn't matter what he meant, what his intent was, and what other spin you attempt to put on it.

He was a fool. At this level it was an intolerable mistake that could destroy campaigns against Democrats nationwide. He's fundamentally unfit for the office and, fortunately, there's time to replace him. Of course, he appears to be another arrogant SOB who refuses to step aside for the good of the nation. It's all about him now. It's clear why McCaskill wanted to run against Akin.

That Carnahan hate worked out so well for Ashcroft didn’t it?

Face it, Akin is toxic and will be toxic for the rest of the campaign, not just to himself, but to other Republican candidates. Can you honestly see Romney and Ryan getting up on the same stage as this guy, nevermind being in the same city at the same time after what he said? Its clear that there’s several here who don’t recognize the gravity of these comments and why there isn’t a way to “go back.”

The media will not let up and will viciously pursue this day after day all the way through until the election. The only way this goes away is if Akin does.

That “squishy” segment saw what we did in CT and NV and let Harry Reid still in the game.

Akin apoligized for a less than well thought out statement - good for him. Now where is Scott Brown’s apology, or is he just another RINO trying to help eat our own and give the MO race to the Dims. Akin had enough backbone to apologize, now the GOP should get behind the apology and Akin. Where’s Scott Brown’s backbone, that guy whom the Tea Party helped before he turned his back on them. Given Brown’s votes in the Senate, his opinion on the issue helps me get behind Akin.

Stupid moron. That is NOT you call to make. That call is for the citizens of Missouri to make, and NOBODY ELSE. IF he steps down like you idiots keep insisting. Then the GOPe get to pick his replacement......not the voters. There were two other candidates on the ticket in the primary. Neither are being mentioned by the GOPe to replace him.

This would be DIRECTLY circumventing the voters of Missouri. Your damned precious strategy is irrelevant. HIS FIRST CONCERN MUST BE MISSOURI. Now if the “average” (not party elite) were in large numbers, to call for him to step down...then he should consider it. UNTIL THEN....back off because it currently is a MISSOURI issue NOT ONE for you morons outside of this state.

BTW - I voted for Steelman based upon Palin’s endorsement. After she has joined the establishment chorus, I would not support her if I could revote. Let the PEOPLE OF MISSOURI decide what they want to do and when. You outsiders just shut up!

How about pro-abort, homo-loving Scott Brown dropping out?

He’s ALWAYS been an embarrasment to the party. The RINO dipshyt.

If Akin trips over his feet/lips on this statement, he can’t recover from this one. He should have known better, and we would expect him to think before he speaks. McCaskill must be defeated. In this race, we have to be better/smarter, than our opponent....absolutely too much is at stake if we are otherwise, “unfair” but true. Let’s deal with that reality and get it done.

I live in Missouri. A very rural area, Edina to be exact. My father was born and raised in Hurdland. I am as Missouri country as it gets, born and raised except for a 6 month stint in st louis back in 1995.
He needs to get out of this race and let Sarah Steelman take his place. This comment was insane! Saying that a woman doesn’t get pregnant if she’s raped is crazy!

In 36 years of life I have heard 2 people say that, you and Akin. I also have a very close friend who gave birth to a child conceived in rape. So I respectfully must call BS on that

The ONLY people calling for his dropping are moderates/liberals. Like I said, I voted for Steelman because of Palin’s endorsement, but have no problem with Akin. Shut up and get off the man’ back. Fools like you are hurting him (someone the is pro-God, pro-Family...FR values) and should get the zot.

Haven't you heard Romneybots are now cool here? They have been unchained and unleashed.

Akin will be forced out, replaced by an establishment type who will help Romney usher in his "moderate" agenda. Whoever replaces him will turn a blind eye to the red flags of prospective SCOTUS nominees that would uphold Roe and support same-sex marriage as a right.

And, dumb conservatives will have fallen in line to make it all possible.

So, not protecting an Idiot who just gave away a Republican Senate Seat because he can't keep his mouth shut is an assault on Conservatism?

I guess Romney is a Ventriloquist now and made Akins say the stupid things he did. Those conniving “Romneybots” not only used the power of their magic underwear to make Akins pontificate about Rape, they turned Jim Robinson into a Mormon loving RINO. Geez...

I guess the Clue Store is closed because they ran out of stock.

Lots of these “I’ll stay home” FReepers and others got us Clinton and Obama - They gave us the crazy Justices on SCOTUS

Yeah - we need Obama to win so he can put 2-3-4 more fairly young radicals on the Supreme Court again - for life

That should guarantee that abortion will be eternal - and Obama will get to run for as many more terms as he wants

Clinton sure was ready to do that

What part of “***may*** reduce the chance a woman has to become pregnant, or for the pregnancy to come to full term” do you not understand?

You are ignorant. Or sheltered. Or both.

Yep, it is a sad day. JR was doing good in holding the line. I’m sorry to see him go over to the dark side again.
