Director Tony Scott died in an apparent suicide Sunday by jumping off the Vincent Thomas Bridge near Long Beach, Calif. He was 68.
Los Angeles County Coroner Lt. Joe Bell told TheWrap that investigators had identified the deceased, Anthony David Scott of Beverly Hills, as the director and producer. The British-born "Top Gun" and "Crimson Tide" director was also the brother and producing partner of director Ridley Scott.
The U.S. Coast Guard told The Daily Breeze that a suicide note was found inside Scott's black Toyota Prius, which was parked on one of the eastbound lanes of the bridge. Officials said that Scott climbed a fence on the south side of the bridge's apex and leapt off "without hesitation" around 12:30 p.m., according to The Breeze.

Hear about this?
A permanent solution to a temporary problem.
I liked “Man on Fire,” “Spy Game,” and “The Last Boy Scout,” to name a few. Tony Scott was involved in a whole slew of films. Sad.
Very sad, recently directed Unstopable, taking Phelam 123, and Deja Vu. Talented guy with a genuine knack and eye for directing action/suspense movies. I am very sorry to hear this sad news. Please pray for his family and friends.
Tony Scott was Ridley Scott’s younger brother. Ridley must be devastated
Suicide is definitely hardest on the ones left behind.
68 year old men don’t usually climb fences and jump off tall bridges to commit suicide.
Just sayin’.

I don’t know what twisted him around to do this, but it’s sad when any soul decides to murder itself.
You got the wrong Tony Scott, a pastor somewhere.
Or was pushed or had somethig about to come out he couldn’t handle.
A reminder to the rest of us that every time you think someone “has it all,” perhaps they don’t.
Just this morning. What a shame.
Suicide is definitely hardest on the ones left behind. As a heads-up, don't kill yourself, folks (or "drive too fast":)). It's as selfish as abortion (and even if one has no friends that will be destroyed in the aftermath, it will devastate Christ); Christ has an important "life" plan for everyone (from before one was even born). Prayers for Tony Scott and his family. So very very sad.
Suicide is definitely hardest on the ones left behind.
So true. My sister-in-law committed suicide at the age of 28 in 1984. Twenty eight years have passed we all still feel the pain.
Reports from the radio are saying he had inoperable brain cancer.
Suicide is not comparable to abortion. Your a sick mind!
