Big surprise for us is the map shows Oregon within 6 pts and only LEANING Obama. We could move that without much problem even in liberal Oregon.

Something obnoxious came on FOX, so I flipped to a random channel...muted. Suddenly I looked up and saw a map with all the states in red....ALL RIGHT!

Unfortunately, it was the Weather Channel.

I suspect there are going to be a lot of red faces on election day among the pollsters. Like 1980, I suspect a lot of blue collar Dems are saying they will vote for 0 but once they hit the booth they will bit their lip and vote for Romney/Ryan.

Blue collar Dems are weird. Politics for them is almost a religion. Their loyalty to party is bred into them. But even that bone deep loyalty has a end point. Carter and the Democrat machine found that out in 1980.

So why am I optimistic this is happening? 2 reasons.

1st how far off the polls were in Wisconsin during the recall. A whole lot of blue collar Dems told pollsters they were voting again Walker then either voted for him or stayed home.

The other reason is this interesting bit from Gallup. Currently Gallup shows the Economy and Corruption as the two most important issues on voters minds. When "Corruption" has scored this high in the polls in the past the party holding the White House has taken a serious hit on election day.

So while anything can happen in politics, the trends right now are looking particularly bleak for the 0 Democrats.
