" To quote Oliver Cromwell, "You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately...
Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!" "
very appropriate ....as applied to all liberals and their ilk.

I do wish I could post more but none of the Sunday shows come on here in Denver early enough for me to post in a timely manner.

Okay, in defense of Folks-Who-Post-But-Don't-Watch....

SF is only now dropping into that category, but I'm even more guilty of that deal. In no small part because of my location out here in the North American Outback, like Morgan, but mostly because I swore off on most of the media in '68.

(No, I won't elaborate. I'm not going to ruin my good Sunday-morning-before-we-go-to-church attitude OR risk tearing up another keyboard and maybe even have Grandma hear me and make me sit in the corner for bad language.)

A plague on them.

And all their works, especially the Sunday Morning Dreadfuls.

I'll just sit here in peace and let good FReepers like Rock watch and listen for me.

Thanks.

I'll ring up some medical types I know and see if we can come up with something for that bleeding from the ears and eyes that you occasionally must suffer for us slackers.

Big surprise for us is the map shows Oregon within 6 pts and only LEANING Obama. We could move that without much problem even in liberal Oregon.

When does our side talk about tort reform holding the lawyers in check? Is there a time schedule for that one?The stuff that gets ignored is enormous.!!

Well, the RATagandist "media" doesn't want to talk about it, but the facts are contained in the "Repeal and replace" bill called HR3000 by Rep Tom Price (R-GA)

They are hoping this happens and the media is doing their part to make this a reality. Our challenge is to keep telling the truth so more people will understand it.

“They all do it” is not true. They all don’t do it.

True enough, Rod. Medicare and SS are both unsustainable. I get a kick out of Gibbs on Fox about "extending" the life of Medicare (Part A) by 8 years with Obamacare. The reality is that Medicare is a pay as you go system, just like SS. Medicare Part A has been running a deficit since 2008. To make up the shortfall, IOUs from the Medicare Trust Fund must be cashed in from the General Fund, which borrows 42 cents on the dollar. The 2016 or 2024 dates are when the IOUs run out. The fact is that Medicare is in the red and sucking up General Fund dollars.

And the premiums for Medicare Parts B and D cover only 25% of the costs. The remaining 75%, by law, must come from the General Fund. With 10,000 people retiring every day for the next 20 years, is it any wonder that we are in big trouble? By 2030 one in five in this country will be 65 or older--twice what it is now. And by 2030 there will be only two workers for every retiree.

I wish the GOP would go beyond the $716 billion raid on Medicare and emphasize the immediate impact of IPAB, which Sarah Palin described as a Death Panel. This part of Obamacare will affect seniors immediately. They will decide what treatments can be reimbursed or are acceptable. This will have a much more visceral connection to seniors who are just being assured by the GOP that they won't be affected. Once you start throwing around numbers with claims and counter claims, most people's eyes glaze over and tune it out. It is time to resurrect the term Death Panel, which is part of the existing law. It is not a plan, but a fact.

Tort reform worked well in Texas. The medical community there has amazing growth as doctors leave other states to get there.

Thanks for the thread, AB!

Wallace with Robert Gibbs on FOX. - Wallace brings up campaign rally with Ryan/Mom in Fl yesterday. Gibbs says Ryan should thank obama for extending medicare benefits (for his mom).

(off topic - Gibbs is wearing a bright yellow bracelet on his right wrist - what does this signify?)

Wallace points out Medicare’s own actuary says you can’t have the same Medicare services for 716 billion dollars less. - medicare patients, millions of them, will lose access to their current providers.

Wallace brings up the 16/15 nonelected officials on a board that will will determine what Medicare will pay for. Wallace takes issue with Gibbs chuckling at his characterization of “non-elected” board members. Gibbs points out they are medical professionals. (My comment - whether they are elected, medical professionsla, or clowns - this IS the death panel).

It will all be exposed as the government runs out of our money or can’t borrow or print more.

(imho) this statement is absolute. May I offer a little history? Here goes....

What bothers me most is these problems were solved during the 1980s. Then both sides of the aisle went ahead and ignored the agreement. President Reagan was the wisest President this Nation has had in this century. President Reagan attacked these problems (all of the problems) and offered solutions which worked. Then our elected (nearly all of them) ignored the warnings of President Reagan and started back into kicking the can down the road instead of holding onto the reforms which worked. It has been a frustrating thirty years for citizens, and the huge expansions continued to government growth. Presently we are where we are, as a Nation, due to not the vote but instead we are where we are due to ignoring the agreements President Reagan enacted.

My post is not directed at you, Morgan in Denver. I know you are award of these points. It frustrates me, how soon our elected were willing to ignore America and a Great American (Former President Reagan) to start back the process of ignoring the solutions all of our politicians agreed to.

I stand by my comment. There are too many conservatives watching for any missteps by Romney or Ryan. I believe Ryan as he explains the changes he envisions to SS and Medicare. The bottom line is IF we do NOT change SS and Medicare both programs will go bust anyway and seniors will lose what benefits they enjoy today. The Democrats don’t believe that and believe they can tax the rich enough to bail these programs out, but that’s a fantasy.

I believe you are too kind to the left.

They really don't care how SS is funded. If its a direct payment from the Treasury its fine with them as l long as they have the issue to demagogue. Are they truly concerned about anyone at all getting any benefits?--Helll No!! All they want is the issue to carp about!!

It's the same with all their other pawns be it blacks,Hispanics, gays, you name it. They don't give a dam about any of these groups only the issues they provide. Time we told it like it is.

Cause hey, much as I like Romney and Ryan, they are politicians. These politicians promise not to change Medicare for those over 55 and I’ll be honest here...at least for now I’d rather not have my Medicare messed with.

Obamacare has already messed with your Medicare. It will affect reimbursement and access to care providers. The IPAB will have a major impact immediately on Medicare recipients. They are charged to reduce costs.

Right now, about 12% of physicians don't accept Medicare patients. That number will go up under Obamacare.

Rove shows Texas as leaning Romney. What crap. Previously he had SC as a tossup state. I think Karl is intentionally understating the GOP's chances. I don't know why unless in subsequent iterations he is going to show some sort of momentum going the GOP way prior to the election.

Obama is down among whites, independents, the young etc. compared to 2008. This has to be reflected in the polls.

In the end, it comes down to this: both Social Security and Medicare from now on will come under increasing financial pressure as the Baby Boom generation (born between 1946 and 1964) start to reach retirement age, and will continue to do so for at least 25-30 years.

As such, both will need considerable reforming in order for both to be financial viable into the future.
