The 2012 election has often been described as the most pivotal since 1860. This statement is not hyperbole. If Barack Obama is re-elected the United States will never be the same, nor will it be able to re-capture its once lofty status as the most dominant nation in the history of mankind.
The overwhelming majority of Americans do not understand that Obama's first term was dedicated to putting in place executive power to enable him and the administration to fulfill the campaign promise of "transforming America" in his second term regardless of which political party controls Congress. That is why his re-election team is virtually ignoring the plight of incumbent or prospective Democratic Party office holders.
The most significant accomplishment of Obama's first term is to make Congress irrelevant. Under the myopic and blindly loyal leadership of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, the Democrats have succeeded in creating an imperial and, in a second term, a potential dictatorial presidency.

Actually, the TRUTH doesn’t hurt at all... My apologies to all for the earlier multi-posts though.
I don’t presume to speak for any other FReeper, but my life is not lived in abject fear. I don’t believe that one mere man or woman can destroy the republic, any more than I believe that Mitt the Lesser can or must save it. The republic lives here, in this website, in my neighbors who “don’t follow politics”, in the soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who DON’T think of the country, the military and the media exist for their personal glory or to further their social agenda. There are many millions of us that don’t live our lives at the minute by minute dictates of the President or the TV. You see, we realize that we serve a larger purpose than padding our bank accounts and acquiring stuff. I truly feel sorry for those who have laid down their principles, their morals, their patriotism and their faith to buy into the lie that “Mitt is our only hope”, but I’m damned sick of the personal attacks from the left wing; and don’t kid yourself, that’s where you’re standing now.
I have always thought that you communicated in a very logical rational way. I have actually depended on that from you as the “big dog.” But some of your recent posts have been disturbing to me. I gather that you hate Romney as others do on here. No problem. I am just concerned at your reaction to that hatred—not just on this thread but others I have seen you on lately. And just in case folks don’t know me - I have been a lurker here for 12 years. I am not a newbie.
Thanks, but I don’t hate Romney. I have absolutely no use for him or what he’s stood for in his public life. He’s a liberal progressive.
Romney wasn’t even my fifth choice, but I’ll take him over Obama/Biden any day of the week. Romney’s liberalism is out of the Daniel Patrick Moynihan side of the aisle. Romney doesn’t hate America or want to see it crippled and destroyed.
It's not about hate. It's about not voting for a liberal.
Of either party.
The hate I see on FR is Romney supporters with their abuse of people that don't agree with them.
That has to stop.

That's why I'm voting for Tom Hoefling for President.
Backup handle? This could be HUGH!
You do realize, I hope, that "reactionary" is a term customarily used by the left as a pejorative for conservatives, and in fact has a history of being synonymous with "conservative." (Cf. French Revolution generally). I have seen you use it now extensively, and I am wondering why it comes so readily to your tongue. If you are really in solidarity with conservatism, why would you so frequently use one of the left's favorite terms for bashing conservatives, and even apply it to JR.
BTW, I noticed you forgot the usual courtesy ping to Jim so I thoughtfully supplied it for you. You dont have to thank me. A good deed is its own reward.
Peace,
SR
I did not even know I was supposed to ping all parties spoken about. This is a public site and I see many of you as reactionary due to resenting the past weaknesses of our team. Even to the point of promoting not voting for him which is crazy! If you need to put some sinister communistic thing onto me, good luck. People that know me know I am a true conservative. And I repeat, Romney was not my choice...but I am smart and know that with Ryan, we have a very good shot at major reductions in government and taxes and that is very very moral!
Again, reactionary is a political term of art. It means “conservative,” especially to Marxists, and to movement conservatives well studied in Marxist literature, which is where you will predominantly see that term. It is a derisive portrayal of those who wish to conserve a traditional belief or culture against the inevitable success of progressive cultural evolution. It implies thoughtless adherence to the “old ways,” whatever those may be.
In our own culture war, and on this site in particular, being “reactionary” is being that bitter clinger to God, guns, and Bible, as well as all the political principles that derive from such beliefs. Obama, true Marxist that he is, in that quip captures the attitude of the left’s moral superiority perfectly. That’s why the term is used. It is powerful propaganda.
But if you didn’t know any of that, that’s fine. Many people get through college hearing lots of terms and using them without realizing their wider range of meaning, especially as the language of academic leftists.
And, yes, it is customary here to ping anyone you may mention in a post, and it really is just common sense. You want to always give a person a chance to defend themselves rather than berate them behind their back. Not very sporting, that. Bad form.
Well, if it was good enough for Julius and Augustus Caesar, why not? Caligula was just an anomaly. A little absolute power never hurt anyone, and gladiators will make a great reality TV show./sarc
I totally agree with the assumptions made in this piece. Obama is setting up a dictatorship, while the majority of its citizens sleep. What logical assumption is missing from the article is that if this is truly Obama’s agenda then there is A: no way in hell that there will be an election come Nov or B: there is no way in hell he is going to lose or C: If it looks like he will lose then refer to A.
The Progressives are all in, they are not going to chance at losing any power over something as silly as an election.
Was Obama's accession to the Presidency the culmination of a long-standing plan by radical forces who guided him thru college and into politics, while carefully scrubbing his past?
I can't say I know. But there is some reason to suspect that Obama's past in equivalent to a secret agent's "legend" and that William Ayers is one of his "controllers".
But, for purposes of argument, let's say such is the case: President Barack Obama was the outcome of a long-term and highly-expensive plan that was meticulously carried out.
Since they have now arrived at the point of being able to execute their plan in its entirety -- given another four years -- it does seem unlikely that they would be gracious losers, doesn't it?
The next five months could be exceedingly dangerous for the nation.
Ditto. Get that POS of of the White Crib/Hut!
Your reaction was my point. Change “hatred” to whatever you want. I simply feel that your responses are emotion based. I can’t apologize for my concern; I mean no harm.
What’s your point? I shouldn’t post, or I shouldn’t post things you disagree with? Sometimes my mobile device fouls up during the posting process. I’ve apologized for that when it happens. I’ve also saved my vitriol for those who launch personal attacks against conservative posters. We disagree. I’ve lurked quietly, long enough to be comfortable in contributing. You can’t be series.

You probably did. It is old.
If it matters, the Dems do it too. I have been a liberal and a conservative, and heard from close friends/family similar types of silliness... I actually do believe it is possible with this twerp though.
