Vice President Joe Biden is going home to Delaware.
The updated White House calendar for Aug. 27 reports that in the morning, the Vice President will meet with senior advisers. Later, the Vice President will be in Wilmington, Delaware.
There are no public events scheduled, said the 5:36 p.m. White House announcement, titled Daily Guidance for the Vice President.
Bidens retreat home during the increasingly frenetic 2012 race comes amid increased criticism for his campaign-trail performance.
Biden was slated to share an uncomfortable lunch with President Barack Obama on Thursday, following his disastrous week on the campaign trail, which culminated with a racially inflammatory warning to African-American supporters that Mitt Romney will put yall back in chains.
The flubs revived chatter about whether the president will drop Biden, and seek a substitute vice president to win the tough 2012 race.
Obamas spokesman Jay Carney on Thursday provided a tepid defense of Biden when he was asked if the vice president would remain on the ticket.
Yes and that was settled a long long time ago, Carney said, before quickly changing the subject to Medicare.
Despite the vice presidents apparent benching, his wife Jill Biden is going back out on the campaign trail.
However, shes only going down the road from their house in Wilmington.
On Friday, Biden will visit the Guardian Angel Child Care in Wilmington for a reading of her book Dont Forget, God Bless Our Troops, according to a White House statement.
Bidens campaign trail flubs also included two errors that prompted derision from GOP supporters and from the media.
Biden also managed to irritate the Washington Posts editorialists, who complained about Bidens response to a question about the Social Security program, which is heading rapidly toward bankruptcy.
I guarantee you, flat guarantee you, there will be no changes in Social Security. I flat guarantee you, he said.
Bidens chain claim was especially damaging because it helps Romney persuade swing-voters that the Obama campaign is divisive and hateful, in contrast to Obamas 2008 hope and change message.
Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago, Romney said during a Wednesday speech in Ohio.
The Obama campaign is one of the most hateful, divisive operations that we have ever seen in this country, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said on the Tuesday episode of Hannity on Fox News Channel.
At least it would be a short administration that would end in November. :)
Well, there might be blood, but most certainly no paper trail.
I’m more than good with the fact that Nazi Pelosi is no longer #3.
ALSO, Secretary of State is a hard job, relatively speaking. You’re always on an airplane, always out of the country, and it ain’t no AF1, that’s for sure. Constant jet lag... all I’m saying is Hillary! ain’t been schleppin’ her fat arse all over the globe for the last four years for nothing. I don’t know why she’s been doing it, but not for nothing.
“If something happens to Obama between now and January 20, 2013, Biden would be clueless as POTUS.”

Merely clueless would be a BIG improvement over the status quo!
I don't know about that, but if I'm Mr. Obama, I no longer take long walks in the park (particularly Ft. Marcy), keep off of planes, and maybe hire a food taster. And Mrs. Obama ought to take out a rather life insurance policy for her hubby (just in case)...
Mayor of a large midwestern city, perhaps?
Great video!
Hillary herself needs to be 'reinvigorated' before she runs for her next elective office. Have you seen her lately? She looks like a bag lady who shops for her clothes at the Salvation Army.
I think it's over for Hillary this election cycle. 2016, maybe. There's time for a face-lift and a major makeover. Plus she can separate herself from the Obama debacle, rather than be tied to it even tighter.
“Biden should be replaced for the good of our Country. If something happens to Obama between now and January 20, 2013, Biden would be clueless as POTUS.”
Quite frankly, I’d prefer Biden as president to Obama.
As flaky as Joe may be, one thing I know for certain: that he doesn’t hate America, and has no desire to “remake” the country based upon a socialist/communist vision (which Obama certainly does have).
Besides, after reading recent article about how Obama relies on Valerie Jarret for almost every decision that he makes, one wonders how many “clues” Hussein has, hisself!
I think Obama will win back the middle class democrat voters he’s lost if he bring in Hillary. She’s just as radical as Obama but people will remember Bill reforming welfare and balancing the budget. That happened because of Newt backed by the “moral majority.” In truth, Bill closeted Hillary’s radicalism once his approval numbers nosedived and that is why he put on a show of reforming welfare and cutting government. In the meantime Bill undermined the whole economy by going fascist with the banksters and turning the housing market into a low income housing scam.
If she joins Obama, she’ll deserve the hell he, his wife and Valarie will visit upon her.
Nobody said the Dem in question was attractive...but then again, we have to remember that the Dem idea of attractive is something that would scare the socks off most normal people.
No, it’s a woman (actually, there are two possibilities) who already has a close political relationship with Bambi. I think he’s going to double down on ideology. He considers himself likeable and personally popular, so I think he and his handlers don’t feel they need any more help in that area and are going to pick an enforcer type who can rally his non-black hard-left base.
Then again maybe they’ll stay with Biden, who if nothing else, makes Obama look smart in comparison.
Finally picked up Act of Valor on DVD last week and watched it. Excellent flick which gives a great protrayal of the SEALs.
But imagine my surprise that there was an intro featuring Moochelle urging support of the troops. I've been supporting the Wounded Warrior Project and Adopt-a-Platoon for over ten years and I don't need that lard-ass ruining my viewing experience. Meanwhile seven Americans KIA yesterday in Afghanistan and not a word from the administration and I really can't say what the heck we are even trying to do there at this point.
Yeah, she kinda looks like the female suburban boomers who would vote for her in droves if she were on the ticket.
LOL - seems so...
