Vice President Joe Biden is going home to Delaware.
The updated White House calendar for Aug. 27 reports that in the morning, the Vice President will meet with senior advisers. Later, the Vice President will be in Wilmington, Delaware.
There are no public events scheduled, said the 5:36 p.m. White House announcement, titled Daily Guidance for the Vice President.
Bidens retreat home during the increasingly frenetic 2012 race comes amid increased criticism for his campaign-trail performance.
Biden was slated to share an uncomfortable lunch with President Barack Obama on Thursday, following his disastrous week on the campaign trail, which culminated with a racially inflammatory warning to African-American supporters that Mitt Romney will put yall back in chains.
The flubs revived chatter about whether the president will drop Biden, and seek a substitute vice president to win the tough 2012 race.
Obamas spokesman Jay Carney on Thursday provided a tepid defense of Biden when he was asked if the vice president would remain on the ticket.
Yes and that was settled a long long time ago, Carney said, before quickly changing the subject to Medicare.
Despite the vice presidents apparent benching, his wife Jill Biden is going back out on the campaign trail.
However, shes only going down the road from their house in Wilmington.
On Friday, Biden will visit the Guardian Angel Child Care in Wilmington for a reading of her book Dont Forget, God Bless Our Troops, according to a White House statement.
Bidens campaign trail flubs also included two errors that prompted derision from GOP supporters and from the media.
Biden also managed to irritate the Washington Posts editorialists, who complained about Bidens response to a question about the Social Security program, which is heading rapidly toward bankruptcy.
I guarantee you, flat guarantee you, there will be no changes in Social Security. I flat guarantee you, he said.
Bidens chain claim was especially damaging because it helps Romney persuade swing-voters that the Obama campaign is divisive and hateful, in contrast to Obamas 2008 hope and change message.
Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago, Romney said during a Wednesday speech in Ohio.
The Obama campaign is one of the most hateful, divisive operations that we have ever seen in this country, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said on the Tuesday episode of Hannity on Fox News Channel.
He’d do less damage than Bammy...

Biden in SC for alcohol detox, Secret Service agents reveal
North Charleston Vice President Joe Bidens arrival for a weeklong vacation at Kiawah Island yesterday is actually a cover story for the Vice Presidents stay at a North Charleston alcohol and substance abuse treatment center, theDiscust learned.
Secret Service agents on Bidens detail were overheard in a bar at Charleston International Airport to say that the Vice Presidents transportation to Kiawah Island actually contained a Biden look-alike. The agents, visibly drunk, were then confronted by the reporter who went on to obtain the whole story. According to the agents, Bidens taste for alcohol was rekindled at the Beer Summit last week. Although Biden drank a non-alcoholic beer at the time, the agents claim that afterwards Biden went on what they described as a bender throughout D.C. bars.
South Carolinas legislative delegation in Washington issued a release saying that they hoped Biden would return to active service status as soon as possible. Privately, at least one member of Congress from South Carolina admitted that hes known Biden to be a drunk for quite some time. Why do you think he talks so much and keeps putting his feet in his mouth all the time? The guy keeps fifths in every jacket pocket. Ive heard that story for some time now, and I guess it proved to be true, said the legislator on condition of anonymity.
Biden was ejected from at least three establishments in D.C. and Virginia before Secret Service supervisors and Bidens wife were able to restrain him on that fateful evening. But, the agents continued, Bidens alcohol use skyrocketed during the next few days. At the Vice Presidents residence, D.C. police were called because of suspicious activity on the compound. After an investigation, a naked and drunk Biden was found to be the culprit.
President Obamas staff, learning of the escapades, then ordered Biden into substance abuse treatment. Thats when the South Carolina trip disguise was created. Biden was checked in to Palmetto Behavioral Systems last night, according to the agents.
Spokesman for Palmetto would only confirm that they did have a nationally-known figure in their care and that detox and substance abuse counseling would begin today. _____________________________________________________________________
Now, watch this video - you won't believe it. If a Republican was wasted at the microphone while introducing someone, this would have been front page news.
I agree with your posts on this thread 100%.
If O replaces Biden with another vp candidate it could be a strong hit to our chances. If he goes with Hillary even more so. As much as they more than likely hate one another, politics make strange bedfellows. And would set her up as the uncontested presidential candidate in 2016.
I don’t think O will give Biden the boot. But I can sure see him resigning for “health reasons”. Truth be told, Biden may have some health issues other than terminal liberalism and “open mouth insert foot” disease. (O suffers from these diseases as well).
Biden being sent home is not a good sign, imho.
Earlier this week, Palin, McCain and Guliani all "recommended" that Obama drop Biden for Hillary. So I don't know how Obama could possibly do that now politically. What, follow Sarah Palin's advice?
Isn't that awesome? And the MSM always tells us it's Axlegrease that's the master strategist. Et tu, Douchebag!
Biden was picked precisely because he was dumb and no threat to his boss (who is also dumb, and runs on ideology alone). However there are limits...
I actually don’t think Hillary would be much of a threat as VP, though. She proved to be a weak, ineffectual SOS, publicly ignored by Obama and hasn’t done herself many political favors by being SOS. While she would be popular with some older liberal ladies, they were already going to vote for Obama anyway, and I don’t think the young find her very attractive. Also, she’s not a good speaker herself. I think Ryan would have no trouble demolishing her.
There’s somebody else I’m much more worried about, but I’m not even going to mention the name.
“I think the standoff between the Clintons and the Chicago mob is mutually assured destruction.
If the Clintons used their vaunted private detective squad to reveal Baraqs true background, the mob would spill the beans on Arkancide.”
Perfect.
I think you have nailed the essence of the entire scenario.
“What follow Palin’s advice?”
Sadly, I doubt that most of the voting public knows anything about that.
You know it, I know it...but so does Barry.
That first bit, with only one internet source, smells of hearsay and incendiary, internet rumor mongering. The video, on the other hand, has the smell of the chemically altered.
what payback do you have in mind
What's interesting to me is how easily the third part of the equation folded, i.e., the Kennedy/Mass cartel.
I think the “real” Kennedys have all died off and the next generations are so screwed up due to inbreeding, fetal alcohol syndrome, etc that they’re incapable of continuing that mob’s influence.
I’ve even seen some speculation that the family $$ has been squandered and divided so much that they’re no longer among the ranks of the truly wealthy.
Now THERE'S some strategery.
Would/Could Biden be any worse than 0bama?
Hillary will not swing the election for Barack. The rats are goin’ DOWN and in January it will be hard to FIND a democrap in washington.
“I’m not going to mention the name”
Don’t tease, Livius.
Myself, I can’t think of an attractive Dem.
