RADFORD, Va. Would you say no to the Vice President?
One New River Valley business owner turned Vice President Joe Biden down.
This might happen more than you think from both political parties, most businesses just don't talk about it. The owner of "Crumb and Get It" - did.
Chris McMurray's bakery has been open only since May, barely three months.
Wednesday morning, advance teams for Vice President Joe Biden walked in.
"I approached her she said Joe Biden is coming to town today," McMurray said.
"Crumb and Get It" is a mom and pop store. Literally. Chris and his wife Kelly run the place and need all the business they can get.
McMurray said the Vice President's entourage got to the point and made its pitch.
"She said they have selected 'Crumb and Get It" to be his stop on his way to Blacksburg and was wondering if that was ok."
Here's the part that might make other business owners crazy.
"This is an opportunity of a lifetime but essentially I said 'No offense to you or the campaign but I just decline you guys coming in here. At that time she said 'Are you sure? There's going to be a lot of press, a lot of activity," McMurray said.
Why in the world would a new business owner say "no" to a photo op with the Vice President of the United States?
McMurray said it was President Obama's recent remarks about small business and who built what.
"Very simply, you didn't build that McMurray said. Speaking of small businesses and entrepreneurs all across this country and actually last night my wife was up all night. No sleep, she's worked a full 24 hours."

Kudos to Crumb and Get It.
Pretty soon some very strange people will be surrounding the place, painting slogans all over it, and holding kiss-ins with their equally bizarre buddies. Just wait.
Hope their tax returns are squeaky clean.
When does the IRS audit begin?
Po’ Joe. Blowback from the masses.. GooD!
Kudos to the small business owner who didn’t build the business..
I hope the Obama Campaign Team has a bad case of upset tummy over this.
I wouldn’t have anything to say to Biden or Obama either. Talk to the hand. This last 4 years have cost this nation dearly.
I saw Obama on the street in 2008. He was driving to a fundraiser not 4 blocks from my home - rear window down, he stuck his hand out and waved at us with a big grin. We just motioned for his car to hurry up through the intersection so we could cross and continue our evening walk.
I’d say some local FReeps should stop in and buy a cookie...
I wouldn’t want the president or vice president in my business. Probably ordinary customers would be shut out on favor of handpicked Obama true believers. And these guys don’t pay for anything.
The very end of the article is interesting and I showed it to my husband. A couple of months ago Joe stayed the night in our town on his way to a campaign stop. My husband is the fire inspector and had to spend the night at the hotel in case there were any issues. The secret service detail hates Biden. Their nickname for him is Uncle Joe. You know, like good ol’ drunk Uncle Joe is at it again.
Baraq and Biden can stop by my little car shop anytime.
I’ll blister their eardrums for as long as they want to stick around.
(I’m sure OSHA will be there a half hour later to cite my @ss for everything under the sun).

I’ll go there and buy something this weekend.
With how many fingers did you wave? :^)
They’ll get more business for saying ‘no’ than they would for trying to plaster a smile on their face while Plugs tries to make a photo op out of their business. Good for these folks .... when you buy something, tell them a lot of fellow Virginians are thinking about them and wishing them well (and will stop by if I’m ever that way).
Get something for THE WIFE, too! And tell her she will ALWAYS be my special friend from Giles and Massanetta!!
Bravo, brave Crumb and Get It.
