Two people, including one security guard, were shot at the office of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C., this morning.
The police are investigating this incident, said FRC President Tony Perkins in a statement on the shooting. Our first concern is with our colleague who was shot today. Our concern is for him and his family.
The shooter was also reportedly shot, according to a local news report, which notes that the FBI is at the scene.
The Family Research Council is a socially-conservative non-profit that participates in cultural debates about abortion, traditional marriage, and religious liberty.

Actually, if this ever REALLY comes down to rioting and civil war I think it will be similar to the Koreans vs holders people thing in LA after the King verdict.
Has to be a panty-waste Democrat. The shooter was a terrible shot.
Basically, "they had it coming", "what goes around comes around", "swoop in and kill all the hatemongers in one big go and simply eradicate them."
The left sure is loving and tolerant. Not.
I just clocked and it doesn’t seem to have comments. May have shut them down.
That graphic that Rove and all of the other RINO’s use that still shows NC and SC as leaning is pure bullcrap because it uses the 2008 election as its source information and has not been updated since. Rove and his buddies use it as their justification that the Tea Party is not a factor.
OK, quick, somebody tell me how best to save these... I still have the article open in my browser...Firefox. TIA
They've been spoiling for a fight since Florida 2000. I said then that they would come with an SA, and now, here they are.
Remember, the main mission of the SA wasn't to hurt people. It was to foment disorder so "good Germans" would see the need for a strong hand at the top.
At a minimum copy past into Word document.

Why should anyone be surprised? For years this organization has been hate-mongering gays, bashing atheists, and blaming said groups for our society’s downfall. Did you not think that they would retaliate? Another loon, Bryan Fischer even suggested that Christians “kidnap” the children of gay parents and send them into an underground railroad in an effort to “free them” from their situation. If you ask me, something like this has been well overdue. Not only do I believe that it has been overdue, I think it is necessary, especially when politicians become involved. None of those Washington types take notice on something until bullets start flying. Perhaps now, the more radical conservatives will tone down their rhetoric, or else spur more of these kinds of incidents. I do not support violence as a means to bring awareness, but occasionally, it is the only way to get the attention of those who would otherwise ignore the people. But do NOT forget, it is the FRC and the Bryan Fischer’s of the world that are drawing the line in the sand, not gay people, liberals, or their allies.

I challenge ANYONE to find a tea party member or average republican to find ANYTHING close to this about other recent shootings that were blamed on Tea Party members.
Not only was it a liberal nutjob without a doubt, but other liberals are applauding it.
And WE'RE the hate mongers?
God help us and help this country because good is losing.

what goes around, comes around... FRC: your hate begets hate! personally, I think whomever shot the security guard should have waited for tony perkins to come out of their compound... I have no tolerance for religiously psychotic hate groups like FRC, Exodus International and others... they can all go to hell!

While it is true the FRC and their ilk are our mortal enemies, and they are doing everything they can to wipe us off the face of the earth, shooting at them is NOT the answer! We have to be better people than they are if we are going to survive the culture wars. Please think, and if you can’t be kind, and least don’t return evil for evil.

We give Martin Luther King and “nonviolent social change” most of the credit for the civil rights movement, but it was people like Malcolm X and the Black Panthers who scared enough people that things finally changed. We have asked nicely for far too long with virtually no progress. I am sick and tired of whiny wimps saying “violence is never the answer” because it is the answer when anti-gay people and groups continue to attack us! FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE! Fight back, it’s time to stop being such sissies and bash back! How many more stories of violence, torture and murder against gays and lesbians will you tolerate? The bigots need to feel fear, real physical fear, just like they try to do to us and I say...FINALLY! I wish he had gotten the leaders!
It says two people were shot and then explains only about the security guard. What about the second individual? (Praying they are both okay.)

Good. I don’t really agree with shooting people, but it was only a matter of time, considering the pervasive nature of guns in america, that the right sort of person would target the right sort of organisation. Shame the guard is still alive, he doesn’t deserve to be.
The guard, who was not identified, was shot in the arm and was conscious after the shooting and was in stable condition. The gunman, who also was not identified, was being questioned by the FBI, sources said. Sources said he is in his twenties.
The suspect “made statements regarding their policies, and then opened fire with a gun striking a security guard,” a source told Fox News. WJLA-TV7 reported the suspect was also shot. Sources also said the gunman may have been carrying a bag from Chick-fil-A, the embattled fast-food restaurant whose president came under fire from gay activists after he said he did not agree with same-sex marriage.
Sources told Fox New that after guard took away his gun, the suspect said, “Don’t shoot me, it was not about you, it was what this place stands for.”
