Two people, including one security guard, were shot at the office of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C., this morning.
“The police are investigating this incident,” said FRC President Tony Perkins in a statement on the shooting. “Our first concern is with our colleague who was shot today. Our concern is for him and his family.”
The shooter was also reportedly shot, according to a local news report, which notes that the FBI is at the scene.
The Family Research Council is a socially-conservative non-profit that participates in cultural debates about abortion, traditional marriage, and religious liberty.

An ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER at Tuckahoe Elementary School in Arlington. Confirmed through two law enforcement sources by NBC News. A photographer who saw the suspect being arrested describes him as a 6-foot-3, 250-pound black male.
"According to the news, he just bought the gun five days ago. He allegedly had thirty rounds of ammunition and Chick-Fil-A leaflets. He also said that he did it because of the FRC's stance on gay marriage."

It’s possible the licensed teacher is the suspect’s Father. There’s a Virginia elementary school teacher with a similar name, but older, pictured here. There’s also a blocked Facebook page associated with George Mason that’s been circulating, which I haven’t linked as no information is available there, other than the name, Floyd Corkins.

local TV news just reported the parents of the shooter were retired mil and his father was the teacher.

"The suspect "made statements regarding their policies, and then opened fire with a gun striking a security guard," a source told Fox News. WJLA-TV7 reported the suspect was also shot. Sources also said the gunman may have been carrying a bag from Chick-fil-A, the embattled fast-food restaurant whose president came under fire from gay activists after he said he did not agree with same-sex marriage.
Sources told Fox New that after guard took away his gun, the suspect said, "Don't shoot me, it was not about you, it was what this place stands for."
Authorities were treating the attack as a case of domestic terrorism, although James McJunkin, the head of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, said authorities do not yet know the gunman's motive."

Thank God wing nut liberals are as ineffective at mass shootings as they are at being productive members of society or this could have ended more tragically. What an abject failure...When these guys finally get violent en masse it will not end well for them.
