The NRA put out an alert about the resolution and meeting and asked people to attend. More than 30 people attended including veterans and NRA members. Opposition also came from holders of of concealed carry permits.

Oh, in case anyone is lulled into complacency by the "peaceable unarmed residents of the village" language, the ABQ Journal has had a series of articles this week on NM's drug problem. NM has the highest per capita number of deaths from drug overdoses in the country. And drug dealers/desperate users are most always armed.

For those unfamiliar with the area, Corrales is a smallish separately encorporated area wedged between Albuquerque and Rio Rancho roughly. It gives the air of a quaint folksy town off the beaten path, but it’s really just a speed trap with overpriced goods and services.
