Jon Entine, author of Taboo: Why Black Athletes Dominate Sports and Why Were Afraid to Talk About It, takes stock of the DNA London Olympicswhere, as usual, African-descended athletes swept the running events while whites and Asians dominated in the water sports, field competition and strength events. Whats going on here?
Segregation was on display in London over the past two weekswhich, surprisingly, should spark no concerns and may even help educate us all about the wonders of human biodiversity. Let me explain.
Led by 100-meter world record holder Usain Bolt, Jamaican men swept the sprinting events at the London Olympics. It was a stunning feat for the small Caribbean nation. But as part of a broader trend, its hardly surprising. Runners of West African descent are the fastest humans on earth.
For decades, a bushel of developing countriesJamaica, Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Kitts, Barbados, Grenada, Netherlands Antilles and the Bahamas in the Caribbean and Nigeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Namibia in western Africa, as single countries, have each produced more elite male sprinters than all of white Europe and Asia combined. Yet West African descended runners are laggards at the longer races.
Remarkably, the story of East African runners is the mirror image of the West African success story. While terrible at the sprints, runners Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and Somalia, along with a sprinkling of North and Southern Africans, regularly dominate endurance running.
And if you are an Asian or white runner? Forgetaboutit.
Unlike the props and costumes required for, say, fencing, or the intense coaching demanded of gymnastics, running requires only that you lace em up. Ethiopias Abebe Bikila proved this quite memorably in the 1960 Rome Olympics, whenshoeless, coachless and inexperiencedhe won the marathon.

Galen Rupp of the USA won the silver in the 10,000 meter, beating out a field composed mostly of Ethiopians, Eritreans and Kenyans.
Lance Armstrong to the Jamaicans, “Welcome to my world.”
Yup. Black athletes sure dominated swimming..
Neil Armstrong to Jamaicans: “walk a mile in my shoes.”
Libtards are always quick to claim that Jamaicans are descended from Africans. They forget that the Quakers and Pennsylvanians sold Native Americans into slavery that were then shipped to Jamaica.
I know these differences exist, but it kind of pains me to see it addressed like this. I think it’s cool that the Jamaicans dominate something like this. It’s cool we dominate swimming.
I don’t really care why. I don’t think of it as segregation. I think of it as diversity. I thought this is what the people who used their mouths for a living wanted.
I’d run pretty fast too if I had to escape from a cheetah or a jaguar chasing me in the jungle...
It is true that Kenyans and Ethiopians dominate. Marathon world record is 2:03:02 by a Kenyan. However, American Ryan Hall has a personal best of 2:04:08...not too shabby. And don’t forget Frank Shorter who won Olympic gold in 1972.
And the Soviet Valery Borzov won the 100 and 200 meters in 72, beating out Jamaican and black American competitors.
It’s not just Bolt that’s suspect. Apparently, whatever agency Jamaica uses to test/detect/enforce the no-doping rules & regs is suspect.
The article explains why blacks are not good swimmers.

Then why was Obama a whining benchsitter on his hs basketball team?

Jaguars are unknown in Africa and live in the rainforests of Central and South America.
Cheetahs do not live in West African jungles but in southeastern African grasslands - the region where human distance runners, not sprinters, come from.
The fastest human in recorded history cannot run at a rate of 30mph for more than a few seconds. A cheetah can run 60mph for upwards of 20 seconds.
No human being ever escaped a cheetah by running.
The longest distance race is conducted like a marathon, so you have a huge bunch of skiers.
Invariably the first 35 or 40 skiers are Sa'ami, or an American or Canadian or German who looks exactly like the Sa'ami and probably has no idea where his ancestors came from but he sure likes to ski.
Used to be thought this Sa'ami dominance of cross country skiing had to do with opportunity and culture. Then they discovered that most of the Sa'ami have been separated from the European people for the greater part of 14,000 years, and some in America for 24,000 years.
What that means is genetic change can happen fairly rapidly if your life depends on it!
In the last Winter olympics the eventual top skier was a Sa'ami who actually speeded up for the last couple of kilometers ~ there is no training possible that enables you to do that trick.
I doubt either the East or West Africans will ever become top competitors in cross country skiing though.
Nope, but humans can run any other mammal, including a cheetah, into heat exhaustion.
It's one of the few physical feats at which we excel!
There's always the Jamaican Bobsled team, maybe Bolt will tryout for that.
