What the hell is going on?
We keep having shootings all over!
The country is coming apart at the seams, thats whats happening. I don’t recall the hatred level ever being this high. It’s gotten to where every day I expect to hear about some mass shooting somewhere.
No, likely he didn’t have true full auto. Or if he did, it was illegal, etc., etc.
“Taken into custody”? I thought the shooter was shot and killed.
Congratulations! I know just how you feel. :) My son was in the same outfit as his dad, C-2 and was in the fish Drill Team like his grandpa. He is now a Navy pilot. I have few buttons left to pop! Best of luck to your son!
Didn’t get all of it, the pics are archived at the news story above and they forgot to remove the “Inspirational People” probably because they had no idea who three out of four were.
Yeah. We had a similar situation here in Va till we finally got complete preemption. OC was never illegal, but various cities banned it. And there was no perfect list of which ones.
Thankfully we have VCDL. So that problem went away. A few cities acted like dorks and tried to push the issue. They were visited en masse by VCDL during their council meetings and had amazing policy conversions. A few others got cute and arrested folks for OC. They got the ever popular visit plus a lawsuit.
The incident appears to have started about 12:15 p.m. at a house in the historical district of the city close to George Bush Drive, the first of four scenes from which investigators would eventually collect evidence.
do not know of any historical district unless (before 1955) qualifies..... It is an neighborhood south of the campus, behind what is known as 'Southgate".
Texas does have pre-emption on ANY firearms law. That’s why SA will not prosecute you for their law - they don’t want it getting into the court system and getting shot down.
Houston tried it with their gun show ordinances and lost big - tens of millions of dollars and both the state and Feds were annoyed at them.
Yes, that was an odd way to describe the neighborhood. When I went to A&M it was Jersey, not George Bush Drive!
This happens off campus, but near the school. It was not campus related.
What we were saying at work today. Personally, I think it has a lot to do with how the human life has been devalued, the coddling of children, from elementary through college, to keep their feelings from being hurt (there is little to no competition any longer in school, spelling bees are out, relays are out, math memorization is out; team work is in, even though half the team members don't care or do the work, they all get the same grade, etc.) When they get out in the real world, for the first time in their lives, they get what they deserve, or on merit. Not cutting it and learning to work harder has never been ingrained in them.
And this aside from the fact that God's been kicked out of everything; there's no standard moral code.
That's the short of how I am able to halfway explain at least some of this.
See my last post above.
You must be proud! Now, you get to watch them march into the football games and go to Final Review. Lots of fun activities to see them in!!
I don’t think I’m going to be able to go to any of the football games this year, but hopefully after this year I’ll be able to swing at least 1 game.
Hope it was in winter, not in that nasty CS humidity. One of those watermark experiences, I’m sure, that you can look back at the rest of your life and say, “I did that, I can do anything!”
I’m sure you’re proud of yours, too. If we can do anything ( being 3 hours away instead of 2 days away) let us know by FReepmail
Is he three generations? Not meaning to brag (too much), but my son is fifth generation. I wish I had been in the Corps instead of a scrongy non-reg, but Jimmah was prez when I was making that decision.
No! Just some mope waiting for 0bama money to pay his rent or mortgage.
Too many cocktails... forgot to ask... is he deployed?
One of my high school and college friends knows the woman who was shot, but I don’t think she died. I think she was in surgery.
