MTP

Maddow tries to have it both ways, says Ryan plan actually wants to keep the Obamacare cuts in Medicare. Dems are already out in force saying Ryan wants to kill Medicare and the seniors who get it.

[Uhhhh, you can’t have it both ways, Rachael.]

As I’ve heard before. Under 0bamacare, you may have an insurance card and coverage but that does not mean you’ll have healthcare or a doctor.

Uninsured using hospitals like a doctor office was a problem before and it’s going to get worse as people cannot find a doctor to treat them.

I have one big, big, big, big, big caveat for the Romney/Ryan team, and I can’t say it enough.

They need to sell Ryan’s Medicare plan, or any suggestion to overhaul it, by preceding every such conversation with a big warning that no changes will effect anyone over 55 years of age.

Being practical here, folks 55 or older collecting Medicare, they didn’t do anything wrong. They went to work all their lives while 7.65% was deducted from our paychecks and OUR EMPLOYER MATCHED IT! Which makes over 15% put away for our retirement and medical needs.

We didn’t get breaks like they get today on this “payroll tax”, we didn’t plan on being leaches on the system, fifteen percent....that’s a lot. Husband saved only 4% of his pay all his life, with an employer match on his 401K, and we got a ton of money back on that.

Well Sears didn’t spend all the money they deducted from husband or their match. By law they had to put it aside in a separate account while the politicians spent our mandatory 15% to look us in the eye now and tell us the money is gone. Those of us who had other plans know that 15% of a check toward retirement needs should have darn well been enough.

And further, just to illustrate more, I once worked for AT&T. Yes mighty AT&T, but I worked for Western Electric, the manufacturing arm of AT&T.

Which was turned into Lucent Technologies, than Alcatel bought by France.

The other day I got a notice that I am eligible for a lump sum payout rather than a monthly pension if I desire.

Total due me...$41,787 bucks! And this was with NO contribution on my part save 15 years of service.

They too had to keep pension money aside and not spend, by law, and lookit, I got lots of money when the politicos didn’t spend it!

So Romney/Ryan have to make it clear that changes and fixes will NOT affect those 55 or older as these people spent their law-abiding lives believing the money and system would be there when they need it.

There’s a way to fix Medicare, Social Security, and goodness, permanent disability in this country is an issue. Don’t scare the seniors and they’ll get out support.

MTP roundtable has liberals arguing with liberals how can they win seniors with Ryan. Like there is no Tea Party in existence only the same old tired politics.

I can’t remember who said it first, but it’s worth repeating: Debbie Wasserman-Shultz looks like what every man remembers his first wife looking like.

The Dems would claim delight no matter WHO the choice for VP had been. I mean really what else could they say? We have seen the same tired old crap endless times before.

When Reagan got the nomination on 1980 the Left hooted and laughed about it saying “Ha, ha, ha a movie actor? Bring it on, we can't wait” and so on. Well we all know how that turned out.

I'm not at all comparing Romney with Reagan but the campaigns ran/are running on a similar platform of bringing back America from a bad place.

Be positive, upbeat and exhibit a strong “we can do it” attitude and when voters contrast that with the only choice Obama has in running his campaign, one of personal and destructive attacks the people will have a clear choice and my confident guess is they will shun the proved failure for a hopeful future.

They also need to emphasize that Obamacare ends the Medicare Advantage plans -- a year AFTER the election.

Many seniors like those plans, because they get a bit better coverage than regular Medicare. Obamacare intends to drop them. Ironically, that provision got a special year extension so the dropping will happen AFTER the election.

On FNS you can tell the Dems are mighty nervous about Romney-Ryan. They can only babble on Romney’s tax returns, Ryan’s plan, and they conveniently avoid how Obama has botched the economy and how the Senate Dems have gone 1200 days without presenting a budget. Yep, they’re mighty nervous in Democratville as they know a can of whoopass is about to open.

Priebus defended Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget plan to change Medicare on Sunday, charging it’s President Barack Obama who who has “blood on his hands” for stealing from the program to fund his health care law.

“If any person in this entire debate has blood on their hands in regards to Medicare, it’s Barack Obama.” Priebus said on NBC’s “Meet the Press”. “He’s the one destroying Medicare.”

Priebus was responding to an Obama campaign ad, which hammered Ryan’s budget plan for being tough on older voters and students.

“This president stole — he didn’t cut Medicare — he stole $700 billion from Medicare to fund Obamacare,” Priebus said.

I just watched O’Axel on MTP with DNC Dave.Quite an expose.
One thing I did get out of it was what appears to be a new DNC talking point.
Axel is an expert when it comes to astroturfing.

http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-astroturfing.htm

Few are in O’Axel’s leauge when it comes to disinformation. He really know how to create a mindset that really does not exist. His current turfing con goes something like this:
“there is now a national consensus to talk about the middle class” and then axel goes on to chat about more and more class warfare based pretty much on those meager tax cuts for the wealthy.
This is the ultimate in desperation for a regime that has nothing at all to run on.And, worse yet, has further destroyed the country in a time of need.
Of course axel has the same ol’ tired crap that he dutifully parrots ad-nauseum on nearly every interview such as “its all bush fault, when we took over it was soooo baaaaadd....etc.tax cuts for the rich, cutting the elderly, now its “Ryan” is the cause since he voted in Bush’s budgets. In reality “Bush’s budgets” would be just a footnote within ozeros budgets.
Also things turned south not because of Bush but because of San Fran Nan,and a congress of rats hell bent on destroying housing and the rest of the country as best they could.Course no one has the brains to talk about that one.

F-Chuck now saying that Florida is in jeopardy because of the old people. What BS!!

Today’s discussion is nothing but Medicare and the budget which is exactly where we want the budget. We can see who the serious Party is and which one just wants to play games and throw mud.

Watching ABC, if the dem pundits are this apopleptic AND Paul Gigot and Peggy Noonan are favorable toward a Ryan pick....We have a winner in Ryan.

After watching his speech yesterday, I was very pleased and encouraged that not only will obama be gone, but we may have a real shot at getting this country back on track.

They may have not done anything wrong, but they are receiving three times in benefits to what they paid into the system. Medicare is unsustainable. What most people don't know is that the premiums paid into Medicare Parts B and D cover only 25% of the costs. By law, the General Fund picks up the rest, which is why Medicare will consume the entire federal budget if it is not reformed.

This graph shows that the average man and woman (average defined in the study as average income over their working lives and living to the average life expectancy) who start receiving benefits in 2010 get over 3 times more in benefits than they pay in to the system! Of importance, the study accounts for inflation by calculating all past taxes and future payments in 2010 dollars to provide an accurate comparison.

If the notion that Medicare recipients are simply "getting back what they paid in" is false then where is the money coming from? Simply, the excess received is being borrowed from younger generations and the cost is more than we can bear.

Mud is all the community organizer and his merry band know. Obie has never been in this position before. It will get nastier and nastier. Frankly I still think Obie will have a breakdown or an overdose before November 6th as I believe he is already heavily medicated.

Excellent exchange between Maddow and Lowrey.

Lowrey keeps asking Maddow to defend the $700 million Obamacare cuts to medicare.

Maddow keeps deflecting to some other stuff.

Lowrey keeps challenging her on it.

She keeps deflecting.

She will not answer directly.

Eventually, Gregory intercedes [to provide Maddow cover].

Debbie Wasserman-Shultz looks like what every man remembers his first wife looking like

That is very funny and probably true!

After 42 years, I am still on my first wife and she doesn't look a bit like Blabbermouth-Shmuck, thankfully. But if she did, I indeed would be not-so-fondly remembering her and would long be on my second wife and grateful for my newly found good fortune...
