I know it is superficial, but Ryan's youth (not to mention his intellect) is possibly the biggest gut punch to Obama. As much as I dislike it, Obama's youth was a selling point to many, emphasized by the fact that he ran against the aged McCain.

Now in 2012, the left was hoping to use the "two old white guys" line against the GOP, but they can't because Ryan is (and looks) younger than Obama (who looks his age when he forgets to use his Just For Men). And deleting the word "old", which they will do when they get desperate enough, will backfire on them because more and more the race card is being declined because of insufficient funds.

I am inspired by this choice- the best choice of the reported ‘short list’- but there is a possible downside. In Ryan’s speech in VA, it is very apparent that he outshines Mitt, which likely is not surprising to most Freepers.
