Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich tells Newsmax there is an easy way for Mitt Romney to show support for Chick-fil-A and its presidents statements backing traditional marriage serve the chains meals at the Republican National Convention.
Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy sparked controversy when he told the Baptist Press that the family-owned company, which puts faith ahead of profits by closing on Sundays, was guilty as charged for backing the biblical definition of a family.
He later ratcheted up the rhetoric in a radio interview, saying: I think we are inviting Gods judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage....

"..WHOA NELLIE"
Now THAT would make the libtards heads explode.
Mitt won't do this; he would do nothing to jeopardize the queer vote.
How about watermelon for dessert??
Rush was right today when he said all Mitt has to do is go back and look at the debates when Newt was getting standing ovations to get on track......
Dreamer. We have a restaurant here that serves Rocky Mountain Oysters. I am certain that Mitt had his removed down here recently. Hope I didn’t grind on them.

I like that idea. But another idea is that on Election day Chick Fil A should give a discount or a free item with proof of voting sticker from a polling place. Come into a Chick Fil A with a “I VOTED” sticker and get your free item. You know the Rat’s won’t step foot in the resturant so it will be the loyal Conservate voter.
Is Newt stupid or pretending that Mitt and CFA are on OPPOSITE sides of the gay marriage issue?
I supported Newt in the primaries but this is a serious fail.
That should be “pretending Mitt and CFA are NOT on opposite sides...”
Oh, for an edit option...
Newt would be riding the chicken express everyday and would have conservatives jazzed and ready to vote. Romney on the other hand, is trying to get 1/100th of votes from the 1% of gay voters pissing his base off in the meantime. Newt tried to warn us about Bain and romney, he knew it was coming. Everyone was all pissed off because he was “attacking capitalism.”. Hahahahahahaha. Stuff it Rove, Coulter, Levin, Malkin, and basically most of Fox News, they own it.
I would call it a dare and probably one that Mitt bite. Mitt's too busy trying to prove that not only can he win the GOP nomination without any help from Conservatives / Tea Party but he's trying to prove that he can win the Presidency without Conservatives / Tea Party as well.
Correction: I would call it a dare and probably one that Mitt would never bite
In Romneys own words, “my campaign is not about CFA”. Then he has the balz to encourage gays in the Boy Scouts. I would say he is definitely on the opposite side of CFA, wouldn’t you?
Newt (or any other of the 8 Pubbie candidates who started out last winter) would be killing the Kenyan by now!
I agree with everything that you said EXCEPT: pissing his base off in the meantime.
Romney never had a base. His base would be about as real as a John Kerry base. The only base Kerry or Romney would have are those who vote along party lines no matter where the candidate stands on the issue.
If you want to call it a base, Romney's base are those Republicans that vote Republican whether they are pro-abortion or pro-life.
Romney's targeted base is ABC (Anybody But Conservatives).
I think Romney dislikes Conservatives more than he dislikes Obama. His performance during the primary compared to his performance now against Obama is an example.
I think Romney (a billionaire who could make more money in the private sector) would prefer to lose to Obama than to have to say he won thanks to Conservatives.
I’d like to see the GOP hold voter registration drives at local Chik-fil-As.
