I had an old Magnavox turntable back in college that had ALL the speeds (16, 33, 45, and 78). I can't remember ever even seeing anything that played at 16 RPM.

I had really good speakers, and when I cranked up that intro from 2001: A Space Odyssey, people three floors up in the dorm said the building vibrated. LOL

Dorm life. I wonder how much it’s like the over 55 community life? :)

The big difference is the noise. In the over 55 community, once in a while someone with a noisy wheelchair will have to get the wheel bearings greased. LOL

This booming economy in North Dakota, WHERE THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IS 3.2%, could spread everywhere across the USA, improving life and the future for us all ... IF only we had a sane, rational president.

Watch this great report on how North Dakota is thriving, due to the Bakken fields drilling of our extraordinarily abundant, God-given energy resources, which permitting had NOTHING to do with Obama. Pray that Obama and Salazar can't find some sleazy loopholes to diminish or shut this boom down in favor of their green insanity. Any struggling US area would love just the chance to deal with North Dakota's growing pains frustrations, right?

VIDEO - 8-7-12: North Dakota Boomtown Suffers Growing Pains Trying to Keep Up with Demand

Excerpt from the report transcript:

"RAY SUAREZ: In western North Dakota, near the Montana border, there's so much oil around, it almost feels risky to say it: boom -- a 1 percent unemployment rate, heavy traffic in what was once a sleepy town of 12,000, nowhere to live, restaurants that close early because they can't find enough people to work at $15 an hour and others offering signing bonuses to dishwashers and fast food workers."

Note: this man's name, Harold Hamm, should be known and respected by all Americans, as he's the pioneering entrepreneur in this field who in 2004 completed the first successful horizontal and multi-stage-fracture-stimulated Bakken well, and is interviewed in this article: How North Dakota Became Saudi Arabia.

Good night, and God bless you.

Sorry I wasn’t around much today. Still not up to snuff.

My Rocket was my constant companion, but Hubby is taking his loss really, really hard as well.

Will try to be more attentive tomorrow.

Oh no .. I’m so sorry to hear you lost a
sweetie. I know how badly it hurts.

God bless you and Mr. TOL.. let the tears flow
when they must. Praying and hoping your smiles
return in due time, and your heart aches less

miraculous healer and mercy from God. Hugs and

Thank you, my shining Star*

We knew he wasn’t going to last much longer. He had been
deteriorating at an increasingly faster rate for a month or two.

A week ago today, I took him outside to play in the grass
(and eat a little). I supervised his outdoor excursions and
never let him out by himself. There are too many big raptors
out there, including the Bald Eagles from over at the lake.

I am so happy that he got one more play date outside before
the end. Three days later, he died before we had a chance to
get him to his vet’s appointment last Saturday.

He’s supposed to come home tomorrow or Friday. I have a
pretty wooden box for his ashes, and I will keep them for all
my life.
