NEW DELHI -- India reacted with grief and outrage at the news that at least six Sikhs were killed when a gunman attacked them Sunday in their Wisconsin temple as they prayed and prepared food. Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, himself a Sikh, said in a statement Monday that he was shocked and saddened by the news and extended his condolences to the families of the victims.

You have challenged the assertion? How exactly?

“Right wing terrorist” is the word used by a former Department of Homeland security analyst and federal investigators. Plus several news media have described him in similar terms and I am quoting on their authority.

Individual rights and personal property rights are guaranteed by the constitution and have nothing to do with left or right.

If you are challenging the assertion then you better have something more then mere words.

So you have appeal to authority? That’s your argument? From officials in a Leftist Administration who are all about smearing the political right, by association?

Look, logical fallacies in argumentation do not constitute an argument.

You have made an assertion that this guy was “right wing”. What were his beliefs that make him so? You are standing on naked assertion and appeal to authority at the moment, and I continue to call BS.

And further, the modern Left shows again and again they spit on various aspects of our Constitution.

You aren’t really getting this, are you?

Yes lets just say that's my argument. I at least have the news media to back up my assertion.
As for his belief ......we both know right wingers are anti-immigrant and so was he.... From his selective targeting of an ethnic immigrant minority.

And what have you got so far?
Nothing but just garbage rhetoric.

You’re not at the right site, are you? You are not a conservative, that is.

The news media *is* garbage rhetoric is the point that you’re not getting. And you continue to not make anything resembling an argument to support your assertion. I know it is hard, the schools don’t teach that very much these days.

And the right wing is anti-ILLEGAL-immigrant. But since you apparently buy the swill that the news media are dishing out, without thought, you believe their line that the right is anti-immigrant.

Seriously, learn to think for yourself and to question raw assertion. Get to underlying facts. There are precious few in the articles and statements being made propagandizing this horrible event.

Oh, and on the general subject of Sikhs - I was in favor of recruiting a Sikh regiment similar to the Gurkahs in the wake of 9/11. But I guess that just makes me an anti-immigrant right wing racist.

There are only 250 thousand Sikhs in US. You can get some recruits but not an entire “Sikhs regiment” out 250 thousand people. India has Sikh regiment and the Punjab regiment and there are 20 million Sikhs in India.

I kinda belong to the same ethnic minority group as the victims of Wisconsin. I have lived in US for more then half my life. I have a very good idea what kind of immigrants the right wingers are against. I know THAT first hand whatever else I may or may not know. I don't need the media to tell me that.

I don't go around wearing the “conservative” badge like you or care for measuring up to your standards, but I am pro-life, small govt, lower taxes, right to bear arms, lower regulations, free market, pro nuclear energy,pro-Israel, anti-Arab/Muslim and anti-PRC. And I was a huge fan of Bush.

There are still plenty of things I know about right wingers from personal experience that I am honestly not fond of. The media has nothing to do with that.

Why would I have limited that recruitment to the U.S.? I’m in favor of legal immigration, remember.

I’m sorry you’ve had bad experiences. I still have seen nothing that makes this guy “right wing” other than raw assertion by people with an agenda.

Oh, and you were doing really good up until the Bush part. ;-P
Lots better than what we have now, but no one to be a huge fan over.

A cop in each place won't help. There are two possibilities: one, that the guy didn't know that Sikhs are different from Mozzies -- in that case better education would help and that's what the Sikh community should do
two, that the guy KNEW, but hated them 'cause they weren't white. In that case, the problem is that very little can be done against a lone-ranger idiot.

Tiger: The Sikhs here were killed by a madman not someone of a major religion or cultural sect of America. --> exactly. that guy by no means represents American views. These protests are senseless if you think about it -- if some crazy dude in Amritsar kills an American, it can be blamed on that guy, not all of India, not even all Sikhs. At the most one can ask if the cops were around. In this case a cop tried to help. But there's no way to stop a madman like this completely I'm sorry.

There are nuts in the world and I’m afraid that’s the way it is. We’re not protesting CA here in CO because of that movie theater killer.

Let me repeat my last post from another thread..... Nope. Very likely among them there were permanent residents, dual citizens, foreign student, guest workers, immigrant or non-immigrant aliens, Non-resident Indians and Person of Indian origin. Irrespective of their status, they all have families back home in India and Indians have a genuine cause concern. Your attempt to hide behind their “supposed citizenship status” is just BS.
