Sounds like fun already ... the Tampa Bay Times released the names of some of the speakers slated for the RNC convention in Tampa later this month, and it looks to be a promising lineup. The Times reported that, as of now, it's unclear where these speakers are slotted, and the rest of the lineup--including the keynote speaker--remains unknown. Names so far include conservative powerhouses New Mexico Gov. Susanna Martinez and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley. Florida Gov. Rick Scott is also speaking.
Here's a portion of the Times report:
Florida Gov. Rick Scott, Sen. John McCain and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice are among seven headline speakers announced today for the Republican National Convention in Tampa. The first look at featured speakers also includes South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez.
The keynote speaker and others will be named closer to the Aug. 27-30 event, Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus said in announcing the headliners, whom he called "some of our party's brightest stars, who have governed and led effectively and admirably in their respective roles."
So far, the lineup looks off to a fairly good start. Conservatives will definitely be represented well--both socially, with the inclusion of Mike Huckabee, and practically, with competent and current gubernatorial voices like Martinez and Haley--and Rice remains a popular figure in the GOP.
At this point in time, not voting for Romney against Obama is just about as smart as blacks voting for Obama simple because he is black.
Remove McCain and replace him with Scott Walker.
It’s just stupid to put McCain up there.
This better not be the parade of the RINOs because it’s not 2004.
I would encourage you to vote 3rd party at the top or do a write in, just to help deny the winner a mandate. It is very important that the winner NOT receive a mandate for the socialist/Marxist agenda.
Choosing between competing pro-choice democrats may be your “reality,” but it isn’t mine.
I have the names of the trolls who hit every one of these posts on a ping list.Your name is on that list - the one headed by little miss .
We will let the adults here work to defeat Obama while ignoring the children wailing in the next room, ok?
Billy, I better be on that ping list. Look diogenesis your famous...A true patriot and made Billy’s ping list. Congratulations.....lol.
Romney Republicanism does something funny to people's heads.
Such twists of illogic make my brain hurt.
If you call yourself a conservative, and you're voting for a liberal, just because they have an R by their name, you are in fact just like those who are stuck on the Democrat plantation.
Cruz: Tea party overwhelmingly behind Romney
Three years ago, we predicted that all of this would happen, that the GOP-E would screw Conservatives in general and Palin in particular, and that it would try and ram Romney down our throats in 2012.
So here we are, and the GOP-E has its minions out and about here trying to whip Conservatives into line through bullying, shaming, and ridiculing tactics.
Won't work because they forget which board they are posting their crap on and who owns it. I, for one, refuse to reward the GOP-E for its behavior with my vote. It can go straight to hell!
We had a choice of Rubio or Crist. Even with Rubio cozying up to the GOPe, we are far better ahead than with Crist. It is what it is.
You had a choice between Cruz or Dewhurst. Cruz will have his chance to stick with DeMint or to pull a Rubio on you but please give the guy a chance. Would you have felt better with Dewhurst knowing the crap he would bring with him? It is what it is.
What was Cruz supposed to do, go out and endorse Obama?
People, I repeat myself, it is what it is. Use it to your advantage. We didn’t get to where we are in one election cycle and we won’t get out of it that fast either.
Steadfast activism and not slipping away into complacency is the only way to move it and keep the rudder turned.
ARRRGGGGGGHHHHHH.
They have absolutely nothing to add to improve Americas chances of throwing off the shackles of Obamaism, but they sure do post the exact same crappy photos over and over again that add nothing at all to the discourse except to show what fools really post.
Your name is on that list - the one headed by little miss diogenesis.
Given that said "list" (*shiver*shiver*) is, presumably, an all-inclusive one insofar as Romney Skepticism is concerned... I think it only fair, at barest minimum, to PING the Head Skeptic hereabouts as to his likely presence thereupon.
Jim: brace yourself, big guy.
You may be on [::cue organ music::]... THE LIST!!!
Oh, so you're taking names, eh?
I’m sure the election depends on you and your vote. Please keep us informed as to what to expect since you are the key vote.
This my FRiend is your wake up call. I’ll let you turn the bell off.

Nooooo! McRINO To Be Featured Republican National Convention Speaker
Because nobody gets the GOP base fired up more than John McRINO . . . errrr, maybe not.
I agree
Your calculation is wrong.
With Romney in the White House and the titular leader of the GOP, if he signs the ICC and LOST and sends them around to the Senate asking they pass it (with the usu. highjinks), then what are the odds the GOP-e crowd in the Senate will vote with the 'Rats to ratify it?
Versus what would happen if a Krinton or a Bozo sent it over, demanding Senate ratification? The Senate GOP caucus would be politically and honor-bound to slam them back in Bozo's teeth! Which means they don't get submitted for ratification.
Bottom line: Mitt in White House => ratification of LOST, ICC, and the rest of that UN sovereignty-seizing garbage.
Think about it, and as you do, revolve the phrase "New World Order" in your head as you calculate the odds that Mitt Romney would act for ratification of those treaties, and go for "sensible gun control", like Bush 41 did, as well. Just think about it.
He would. You KNOW he would..... and he'd be the boss of the GOP, and there would be some VERY lonely conservative Republicans in the Senate if he did.
But show me 67 Republicans in the Senate and Barky in the White House, and I'll show you a stage set for an impeachment and conviction of Barack Obama.
And the last you'll see of him is the big gates of Leavenworth Penitentiary gaping wide to receive both Barack H. Obama and William Jefferson "Slick Willie" Clinton.
Bottom-bottom line: The fate of the Republic does not revolve around helping Mitt Romney get into the White House, but in putting together a strong GOP majority in Congress.
I know the Media has been all about the Presidency for two generations now -- but the Media lie. This time, it's about Congress.
So stop with the heavy (and false) guilt-tripping tactics already.
Neither my principles nor my actions are determined by what Leftists think, or by what you fear.
So, what is your solution for this election? I’ll let he Obama team explain their view for you.

The reason Team TrueBlue relies so heavily upon the increasingly ineffectual cudgels of Guilt and Fear is because Mittens' resume of actual, demonstrable conservative achievements in make-or-break areas such as abortion, amnesty, 2nd Amendment rights, traditional marriage, etc. is so appallingly threadbare.
"When the facts are against, you argue the law. When the law is against you, argue the facts. When the law and the facts are both against you, pound the table." Team TrueBlue has finally been reduced to banging their sippy cups against the FR table. ;)
You are the one projecting fear and playing into Obama’s hand, I am projecting reality.

It is what it is.
Insecure women might be worse, but you tell me. Did you see that Commentary article (and David Frum response) about "Why do Jews hate Sarah Palin?" You should read the reader comments -- wow!
People in "Blue" (really PINK!) America really don't like either America or Americans. And they can't stand a woman who's got all the old American virtues -- they shudder and their toes curl up with their own inadequacy!
