Ted Cruz, who rode a tea party wave to win the Texas Republican Senate nomination last week, said Sunday the movement will overwhelmingly support Mitt Romney in the November presidential election.
Mr. Cruz said tea party activists will rally in defense of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee because theyre energized to defeat President Obama.
I have spoken with literally thousands and thousands of tea party activists, and I have yet to met a single tea party leader that is not going to vote for Mitt Romney and work hard for him, Mr. Cruz said on Fox News Sunday.
Our country is in crisis, and weve got to stop this Obama agenda if were going to preserve opportunity for our kids and grandkids.(continued)

I believe that is a true statement from the people who I have talked with. The radicals here on FR won’t.
This is going to be fun! That’s my comment.
Just when I thought I was gonna like the guy he goes and says something really stupid.
We can worry about Romney later.
One would think that if this was true, there would be no need to tell people about it. I got an email from one of the local tea party’s, actually, around here in TX. The email was essentially one big long rant about “unifying” behind Mitt Romney and how we all need to support him. My impression, naturally, is that she wrote that to us since “unity” isn’t that easy for a guy we all know is scum of the Earth.

The bustards have got me all worked up. Every word out of Obama mouth is like the stuff that came out of Linda Blairs mouth. I expect to see his head spinning any time now.
Cruz is already getting carried away with himself.
I think this is a very smart thing for Cruz to say, and it shows tremendous leadership qualities. It’s the Brietbart thing to say (see tagline). If the Tea Party is to take the reins of govt, and lead the way, it will have to take the rein of Romney and lead the way for him too. Clearly, we know Romney is NOT a conservative, and is NOT a Tea Party kind of guy, but the up and coming movers and shakers have to somehow get a grip on the GOP-E, and then, taking a word back from the left, transform it/them.

I agree
He should say "vote for Virgil Goode, because nothing says Dem win like a Clintonian plurality"
The right political thing to say. Shows good political sense.
Romney can get the Tea Party vote if he wants it. Hasn’t shown nuch desire for it so far.
Helping Tea Party candidates will be the biggest thing he can do.
Willard is getting fatter...
Christie would be a good VP for him...

You may be right...and I love your optimism. As a conservative I’ve been “played” every election cycle, which is understandable as an admitted member of an extreme minority. I’m old enough now to know the destructiveness of holding your nose at election time. Take High Speed Rail or the freight train, they both get you to the same destination.
I always wondered what those Paulbots would do when they had to admit he didn’t have a chance. Well, it’s not pretty. Watch as they enlighten us how supporting Obama is the conservative to do. In 3, 2, 1...
Here's a picture of a "commie libtard RINO", Romney, taken yesterday in Indiana. - Fixed it for you.
Not only do they not have a clue...they don't even suspect nothin'.
