What does a monkey doing gymnastics have to do with Douglas?

I see Gabby Douglas and I say, "That is a fine young woman who has put in the hard work to really excel at her sport."
I see a monkey doing gymnastics and I say, "Nice monkey."

A Liberal sees Gabby Douglas and says, "Black people look like monkeys."
A Liberal sees a monkey doing gymnastics and says, "Black people look like monkeys."

And we're considered the party with a "race problem"???

I see a monkey doing gymnastics and I say, "Nice monkey."

I watched the whole gymnastics event that was televised and I probably saw the monkey doing gymnastics and it never entered my head to equate the two. What is wrong with people?
