Every time someone in the OT has more than one wife it turns out bad. If your doubt this, show me the example where it turns out well.

Just because God didn't forcibly prevent a man from marrying more than one wife, did not mean he allowed it. The Bible contains a written history of what men did even when it was contradictory to God's plan.
