Mourners for a man who was killed in a shooting earlier this month apparently beat up a man they thought was intruding on their loved one's funeral early Friday afternoon in northwest Houston.
The attack occurred at the Paradise Funeral Home at 10401 West Montgomery while family and friends were holding a service for Claude Kibbie.
Kibbie died July 26, a day after he had been shot in the head while driving away from an argument in the 9500 block of Trudy.
Police said at the time they had no suspect or motive in the case.
Mourners at the funeral believed the man who showed up was the person who had shot Kibbie, police said. They attacked him, beat him and threw him through a plate glass window.

Reason #1 why CCW/CHL is always a good idea.
Well of course! That is how they be even at a funeral of a loved one. They can’t restrain their tribal like actions. Stay far away.
So true ... tribal. Exactly what the progressives are shooting for. Fracture society and break it down to competing tribes, then implement the dictatorship and ship off any dissenters to the Re-education camps run by FEMA.
Such a nice memorable ceremony!
Following the event, all got drunk then drove around town howling and making animal sounds.
Anyone care to guess who’s Congressional district in which this funeral home is located?
I don’t think America is deep enough in the gutter. We must “progress” into the sewer system or we are all racists and homophobes!
Let’s see... Where was that again, where all those Katrina refugees fled to?
Oh yeah! Houston!
Ever see the movie Exodus? If I was mayor of a peaceful city and thousands of refugees from inner city black America came to me for refuge, the answer would be, hit the road jack.
Yep, typical ghettofabulous. If a particularly popular gangsta gets shot and killed, you had best have a strong police presence at every stage of the funeral, from wake to the time they chunk him in the ground.
I am sure it’s the same everywhere but here in St. Louis, it’s not uncommon for there to be shootings at the funerals.
Of course, the PLO and the IRA have done the same....
