Conservatives Have A Secret
American Thinker ^ | August 3, 2012 | Daren Jonescu

...The entire Democratic Party, from the top down, now looks like Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright. The hatred of America is open. The desire to undo American constitutionalism is explicit. And this exposure will only accelerate in the coming months and years, as the left realizes ever more acutely that its days as an accepted political faction are numbered, and it is forced to take increasingly drastic and sudden measures to achieve its brutal aims before the clock runs out....It has become patently clear that the present Republican Party establishment is not up for this fight. Constitutional conservatives must do it themselves, using the GOP apparatus as just one tool. They must remain cool and workmanlike, rebuilding dams faster than the leftist waves can knock them down. This is the means to conservative victory. One cannot merely "go back" to a better time. Societal decay cannot simply be undone. One must allow -- even encourage -- the progressive degeneration to play itself out, fighting it at every turn until the leftists, seething with an increasingly open hatred of America, overplay their hand and self-destruct.

Unfortunately, they could never have achieved such leadership positions in the Democrat Party if a large and growing segment of the American population did agree and identify with them.

Remember, the problem is not Obama. The problem is the people who voted for Obama.

The Democrats became commies with Obama, and the Republicans became Democrats.

IOW, we’ve become Europe.

This is true, but I also believe that lots of people who care were either not paying attention or are now realizing they have been misled by the extremely biased media. Obama’s mask is slipping......

Awesome Op-ed, especially in the wake of what happened Wednesday. The left was pushed so hard they lashed out in a way that set them back a LONG time.

Make no mistake, the MSM will never report either fully or accurately on just how much revulsion the voting public feels about “O” and his monkeyshines.

I feel fairly certain that a seismic rejection of him and his ruinous policies is in the making.

That it is not outwardly and immediately apparent doesn't mean that this groundswell of Conservatism it is not taking shape.

Don't ever count on the MSM to be where the facts are.

Year: 2008
Unmarried women supported Barack Obama by a 70-to-29 percent margin, and they voted for Democratic House candidates by a similar margin — 64-to-29 percent.

These margins mean that unmarried women edged out both younger voters and Hispanic voters as the demographic with the strongest support for President-elect Obama.

These unmarried women voters joined with younger voters and people of color to create what GQR calls a “new American electorate” — voters with a decided preference for liberal candidates.

“if a large and growing segment of the American population did agree and identify with them.”

The media covers for them. The media is 50% of the problem.

Well, I certainly believe that Democrats and their party, administration, supporting unions, MSM et al are devoid of morals, goodness or value for traditional America.

I also believe that conservatives must do it themselves. Each and EVERY time we see evidence of RINO backsliding, we must band together and defeat them in the next primary, no matter the cost. My own Governor and former Congressman, and both its RINO senators have backslid a number of times. Come next primary, I'm gonna support their opponents.

If you read the article you would realist that the underlining point is by obstructing the “progressives” we have angered them and forced them in their anger to move all the more openly and frighteningly. That in itself has exposed their threat to the people they wish to make effective slaves all the more.

This in itself is a tactic required in a Conservative revolt. Paint the NAZI picture on the Statist left. Re-instill the natural and healthy fear of government.

I realize our politicians in Washington have betrayed us again and again as is to be expected of men who work & run the machine that stands to gain from the leftist agenda.

If we are to win this war WE CANNOT allow those men to lead us. We must wage a separate campaign while our efforts with those men are focused on crippling it. Instead our attack forces must consist of men who stand to gain rather than lose power with our victory. In this case and at this point in our history that would be our State & local Government leaders.

If we can move the power to our states we can then control & limit our States with our feet.

We can win against the leftist just not in distant, unaccountable, money printing Washington D.C. There the field and the tools leave us too few options to undercut and destroy the leftist.

Thank you for posting this accurate appraisal of the Cultural condition today. I believe it to be right on the mark, and the words to be taken to heart.

Keep building, and rebuilding those dams.

Ping of personal interest. Not pinging you for your ping lists, just to be certain you have the opportunity to read this as it’s quite interesting.

Oh, yes, this is a good one, and thanks for the ping. Some of those arguments sound a little...familiar... ;-)

There are victories that are both hard-won and not so very visible. One of these is that in this country the framework for debate and the ultimate criterion for judgment is written on paper and grounded in such principle that cannot simply be discarded as a relic of the past. It is a common ploy of the Marxist Left in Europe to marginalize conservative opponents as defenders of an old, repressive, aristocratic tradition. The incredibly strident and increasingly transparent campaign to cast America as an imperialistic monolith is very much a part of this pattern of behavior. Where it has succeeded - campus, the shallower intelligentsia - is where the Left has made its greatest advances.

However, as the author points out, here certain doors are guarded with a vehemence seldom seen elsewhere in the world, the First Amendment being one of these, the Second being another. (I hope to live long enough to see the Fourth and Fifth regain their former entrenchments). Here the epithet "unconstitutional" still carries a sting. Here individual liberty cannot - yet - be dismissed as a relic of the past.

I have, however, heard it earnestly asseverated that individualism itself as a basis of politics is moribund, yes, on campus by an individual who would be horrified were that criterion applied to her. That the lesson learned from the 20th century was that statism and collectivism were far better founded scientifically. I wanted to ask this individual where she had been since 1989 - in mourning, apparently.

The advantage we have as conservatives (if we may even be called that) in the United States is that one may proceed forward under the same principles that got us here. The principles of distributed, representative government and the repository of political power within the individual citizen are not throwbacks to an imperialistic past, they are guideposts for the sort of future that has a proven track record in the past, which is far more than can be said of any jargon-laden socialist utopian fantasy that never was because it cannot be.

The collectivists will still argue, but it will be on our terms, because if it is ever otherwise we will discover rapidly that such terms as there are, are those of the Left: arbitrary, dictatorial, and very much the mark of a new aristocracy taking place under the Divine Right Of Party. That is a relic of the past.

The media is 100% of the problem.

Evil is not a problem - you find it, you destroy it. It's inherently weak - that's why it hides.

LYING about evil, however - now THAT'S a problem!

Excellent article.

It's true the American hating progressives are becoming more and more unhinged and thus impatient at their slowed progress.

I would hope that the support shown Chic-fil-A is a backlash that will unhinge them more and it has in my view.

With the stunts and the out and out lying statements Obama has been making of late it seems he and his crony progressives are more unhinged.

Thanks for ping and post.
