Adam Smith, former CFO and treasurer of medical supplies manufacturer Vante, riled people up today when he put up a video of himself bullying a Chick-fil-A drive-thru employee in Tucson on YouTube.
Smith unsympathetically berates the worker in the video, which was initially titled ”Reduce $’s to Chick-Fil-A’s Hate Groups.” It has since been taken down (though other have uploaded it too).
”I’m a nice guy, by the way … totally heterosexual," he says to the worker. "Not a gay in me, I just can’t stand the hate.”
Smith has now been fired from his job at Vante. Here's the press release from Vante announcing that Smith is "no longer an employee of our company," effective immediately:

I’m sure he thinks he won’t have trouble finding work in O’s roaring economy.
He’s an adjunct, not tenure track. They get fired and hired all the time, with the demands of the semester. All they have to do is say his services aren’t needed.
There are adjuncts who’ve been at the same school for 5-10 years and still wake up one day and find they aren’t renewed for the coming term.
I read that about the 4 sons. Honestly, I began to wonder if that was some kind of a Sandusky adoption situation.
At the University of Arizona and in Tucson , home of Sheriff Dupnik - who blamed Jared Loughner’s shooting on “conservative rhetoric” and I believe, shaved his head for his booking photo to make him look like a “skinhead” - Adam Smith would have gotten the idea that immature, lefty BS bullying is the height of social acceptability.
Seriously, who interviews this guy and doesn’t pick up on his smarmy lack of character?

It is considered socially acceptable, in fact expected behavior, in places like Minneapolis.

I don’t like people who turn vicious then declare that they’re really nice people. They aren’t. They’re manipulative abusers, trying to make their victim believe that what they just endured was their own fault.
This guy probably has a few coworkers happy to see him go and for his kids’ sake, I hope he gets help.

Adam Smith sacrificed a nice career position (and a good income) for the sake of being a childish bully for 5 minutes and then gloating of it on YouTube.
For the rest of eternity (or as long as there is a net), the story of his juvenille character is waiting there for prospective employers to consider as they verify his bona fides.

For a short period of time Adam Smith managed to become the most hated man in America.
Even the crazies at D.U. were praising the composure of Rachael, the C-F-A employee, and damning the boorish behavior of Adam Smith.
He’ll probably get a “shout out” from Obama at the dem convention.
