Support for same-sex marriage has risen across the board in the last four years, new polling data shows, signalling a shift in the overall political and social views of Americans.
The new data, released Wednesday by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, shows a higher percentage of Democrats, Republicans, whites, minorities and people of all generations support same-sex marriage legalization....
Among voting groups, there has been an increase in support for same-sex marriage even among Republicans. Since 2008, Democrats have jumped in support from 50 to 65 percent; Republicans from 19 to 24 percent; and Independents from 44 to 51 percent....
The Pew data supports other recent polls showing acceptance of gay rights is becoming the new norm for Americans. A May Gallup poll showed a majority of Americans polled consider gay or lesbian relations morally acceptable.
The poll showed 63 percent of Americans believe gay relations writ large should be legal, with non-religious Americans, women, youth and Democrats more supportive of gay rights.
Government policy has also been shifting in favor of this new norm. This year not only saw the president's public announcement in support of gay marriage, but also the repeal of Don't' Ask, Don't Tell, leading to more open acceptance -- and even praise -- for gays, lesbians and bisexuals serving in the armed forces.

When the first statewide ballot question approves homosexual marriage then I might be tempted to believe this. What's its record so far? Something like zero for 33?

Well troll, I just looked at your posting history and you've been pretty busy pushing the homosexual agenda in the two weeks you've been here.
I'm curious, are you a new troll or a retread?

I don’t give two sh*ts what “growing numbers of Americans” find to be trendy, anyway... this is a country that elected Obama in 2008.
Homosexual “marriage” could garner 99.9% support, but it doesn’t make it any more right.

The Chickfil-A fight is fun because libs over-reached, but this is just an anomaly. Libs HAVE the the schools, the media, the kids channels/shows, colleges, and the Republican channel FNC wont normally get involved, and libertarians are on the side of libs on this one.
I regret to inform you SoL, that the n00b 'Wise Hectare' was just zotted, so you may not be hearing anything back from him.
He was a homo anyway, no loss.

Many have been busy on Facebook for the past week complaining about being blocked from posting their hate on the Chik-Fil-A group page.
They will continue to troll the internets. Wonder how many accounts he registered under when he signed up here last month.

Probably as many as he has backdoor fun-buddies.
Which means the mods could be busy firing the ZotCannon(c) for at least a month, lol

Bull Sh! As seen yesterday Americans do not approve of it. Chik-Fila shows that the hate filled left has lost the argument. This poll is nothing but gay propaganda.

This is probably true. Think back 30 years and being gay was something that people hid. If anyone thought someone was gay, that person was whispered about. Now gays are open about it. Every TV show has gay characters, some have several. Openly gay pastors, politicians, professors, even grocers and car salesmen. Compared to only a few decades ago gay is normal and even more so with yourger people. I remember my daughter, in middle school, talking about a gay classmate. How can someone even know in the 7th grade? Times they are a changin’......

It was a complementary ping because he posted the article.
But I am curious if anyone here thinks Republicans are winning this fight.

"Support for same-sex marriage has risen across the board in the last four years, new polling data shows, signalling a shift in the overall political and social views of Americans."They've been saying this for years. I think it's just to create a climate of intimidation so folks will be reluctant to express their real feelings on the issue. Most folks don't like being called a hater or a bigot, so they just go along to get along. And many just don't understand the issue, and can't figure out why it's any really big deal. They see that funny 'gay guy' on a TV show, or on one of the myriad reality shows, and think "folks like him are no threat to anyone".
Another problem is that many don't know how to argue the issue. They don't know how to put into words WHY traditional marriage is better for society in general, and children in particular. Many want to argue it as a religious issue, but that falls on deaf ears with the militant homosexual activists. And many twenty and thirty somethings are not religious at all, or are negative on religious organizations, so they don't understand that worldview, or are suspicious that someone is trying to force religion on them. All those folks need to be met with reasoning and arguments that are societal and psychological, NOT religious.
