Support for same-sex marriage has risen across the board in the last four years, new polling data shows, signalling a shift in the overall political and social views of Americans.
The new data, released Wednesday by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, shows a higher percentage of Democrats, Republicans, whites, minorities and people of all generations support same-sex marriage legalization....
Among voting groups, there has been an increase in support for same-sex marriage even among Republicans. Since 2008, Democrats have jumped in support from 50 to 65 percent; Republicans from 19 to 24 percent; and Independents from 44 to 51 percent....
The Pew data supports other recent polls showing acceptance of gay rights is becoming the new norm for Americans. A May Gallup poll showed a majority of Americans polled consider gay or lesbian relations morally acceptable.
The poll showed 63 percent of Americans believe gay relations writ large should be legal, with non-religious Americans, women, youth and Democrats more supportive of gay rights.
Government policy has also been shifting in favor of this new norm. This year not only saw the president's public announcement in support of gay marriage, but also the repeal of Don't' Ask, Don't Tell, leading to more open acceptance -- and even praise -- for gays, lesbians and bisexuals serving in the armed forces.

Some of that is due to the largest , consistent, voting block is older, conservative and evangelical voters.. The younger people in this country were brought up on gay acceptance and they generally don't vote or take it less serious.
Gay acceptance is growing. It is a fact. A friends son is in the Army and his son said the younger soldiers don't care about the gays in the military as much while the older ones generally do. Just the way it is.

It's beyond "don't care about the gays". I saw plenty of batsh!t crazy liberals on facebook who are not gay (and do not want to get married, themselves) who are adamant in their support for same sex marriage. Now why are they such STRONG proponents for this change to the institution of marriage when they themselves shrug and say "not for me!".
There’s no doubt people say the accept it more because it’s too detrimental to say other wise. However when it counts they do not vote for gay marriage. And youth will always be more liberal and accepting of things out of the main stream or norm. When they get older and have kids that changes.
This is to funny..in their sick dreams..We will one day send these moron back in the closet or put them on a boat to their own islands..We will seperate them by sex since we want them to all die out of old age with no new babies..

Supporting gays comes from a rejection of religion, it is the main driving force, they know it’s the easiest way to poke the eyes of religious fundamentalists.

I’ve also been seeing an increase (especially from some smaller touring musicians) who say “I don’t want any political debates on my feed” and then who say “I WILL unfriend you if you differ from my views”. ZERO tolerance for dissent and THEY claim it is the fault of “the Tea Party” (never instigated divisiveness from MoveOn, et al).
These liberals are free to block or unfriend whoever they want. But they are not content to just take such action over words you may post to THEIR page, they will do it if you post to your own or a friend’s page.
I can sit back an observe the growing intolerance from the Left. The anti-Christian rants about monkey-Christ and superstitions (but they still hold a soft spot for muslims). Stalinists lied about their love for Man, too.

Then why does gay marriage lose in every state in which it is placed on the ballot? Not just lose but LOSE, by about 2 to 1.
Well, the article says that:
65 percent of democrats supported gay marriage
51 percent of independents supported gay marriage
24 percent of republicans supported gay marriage
Then goes on to say "The poll showed 63 percent of Americans believe gay relations writ large should be legal..." I assume that means that the poll says there is 63 percent overall support for gay marriage.
To get 63 percent overall support from the earlier numbers reported, the sample would have to look something like 93% democrats, 3.5% independents, and 3.5% republicans (other combinations are possile with slightly different combinations of independents and republicans but they would all have this kind of skew).
If you use the earlier numbers with any reasonable distribution of party identification (say, 38% D, 27% I, 35% R), you would end up with 47% percent support for gay marriage - still a minority even after years of relentless media propaganda
I expect the reporter made some mistakes, but I also suspect that any poll from Pew has bias that stinks to high heaven. They don't call it "Pew" for nothing.
This coming Christmas, the continued evidence of “Holiday season” sales that end with “post-holiday” sales on December 26th (well before January 1st, another holiday) will only become more apparent.

Polling is flawed on this issue for a number of reasons, usually trending much higher for ‘gay marriage’ than the actual general votes have shown. But if you look at the amendments—when they passed, by how much and if the state is generally conservative or liberal the trend isn’t too positive in my opinion. For instance, liberal Hawaii passed it’s amendment by 69% in ‘98 at the start of the process, while fairly conservative NC passed its amendment by 61% in 2012.

And this rise in support is likely in direct proportion to the percentage of Americans who have no connection to Judeo-Christian values.
