CBS, which devoted four on-air segments between May 30 and June 1, 2012 to the "hundreds of Catholics" who rallied in support of dissenting nuns, ignored the tens of thousands who came from all over the U.S. to see conservative talk show host Glenn Beck speak on Saturday. In fact, all of the Big Three networks have yet to cover Beck's "Restoring Love" event in Dallas on their morning and evening newscasts.
CBS's Dallas affiliate reported that "more than 65,000 people filled Cowboys Stadium" for Beck's event. On Monday, Chris Ariens of MediaBistro's TVNewser blog noted that the gathering was a trending topic on Twitter on Saturday night.
Susy Solis of CBS 11 News in Dallas noted that Beck, "one of the most polarizing figures in America," drew the ire of the "notorious" Westboro Baptist Church, who protested the talk radio host. One unidentified protester labeled Beck a "false prophet."
This kind of omission from the Big Three isn't surprising. The networks also punted when Catholic dioceses and organizations filed 12 lawsuits against the Obama administration's abortifacient/birth control mandate in federal courts across the U.S. on May 21, 2012. They also regularly ignore the March for Life in Washington, DC, which draws hundreds of thousands to Washington, DC every year. As DC conservative talk show host Chris Plante has put it, one of the liberal media's greatest powers is the power to ignore.
I think it is noteworthy to look at the media’s attention given to the Westboro Baptist Church members protesting the Beck event. When these cult whack jobs start calling Beck a false prophet, the media writes down every word to attack Beck. When they talk about God’s punishment for homosexuality, the media uses Westboro Baptist Church to paint every Christian with the same cult whack job brush. In effect, Westboro Baptist Church has put itself in the position of being a tool for the State Owned Media. It is pretty creative of the State Owned Media, I give that to them.

I was there. The atmosphere was electric. I’ve never been around such a cohesive, service-oriented, uplifting, and motivated group of people. Of the 65,000 - 70,000 people from all 50 states and 20 foreign countries in attendance at the main event in Cowboy Stadium, about 35,000 were there early on Friday, in 100 degree heat, to volunteer their time, effort, and expertise in a day of service to thousands of area individuals, churches, nursing homes, and other organizations. When some logistical problems arose in getting 35,000 people to where they were supposed to be, individuals took the initiative to find a way to make it work. No one complained. They just got the job done. It was a testament to the power of the individual versus the inefficiency of government organizations. A life-changing experience.
Not quite.
That he BELIEVES the words of a False Prophet would be more accurate.
Yer gonna be gatherin' some nibbles on yer kibbles iff'n ya don't get me sumpin' to EAT!

Thanks!!
Bah! Pikers!!
The CHOICE industry in Colorado does more than 3 Auroras a DAY!!!
If Mitt finally gets the RNC nomination as 2012 candidate; just WATCH the media's outpouring of data about the False Prophets of MORMONism to attack HIM!
This is what really annoys the Left. Individuals helping those less fortunate without government direction or approval puts the lie to using the power of government to help the "little guy."
“...using the power of government to help ‘the little guy’...”
“the little guy” will always be a little guy in a leftist society.
What exactly did Beck get done in Dallas? I know he drew 65K people, but what did that accomplish?
Would you please point me to one concert either had with 130,000 people attending?
Madison Square Garden holds far less than 65,000.
For basketball events in the Arena, the seating capacity is 19,763 and for hockey events in the Arena, the seating capacity is 18,200. For all other events, seating capacity changes depending on the set-up of the event. For events in the Theater, the seating capacity is 5,600.
Uh....probably got them motivated to go out and work to Fire Obozamma.
The day before, 35,000 went out and did local volunteer work.
In other words you don’t know.
90% of TV news isn’t news and less than that for newspapers. If Jesse drew that many it would be front page, also Farracane /sp and we would be hearing it and seeing it for a week. Plus they would be guest on all the junky TV shows.
Elsie, I have been thinking about your girl every day. How is she coming along. I’d have freep mailed you but didn’t want to be a pest....goat granny
Could you gather 100 people to talk of God and country? Its not headline news but is news that is of interest to many conservatives. If nothing else, he brought in a tidy sum of money for the community...
