Why not just make it $50/hr? Then everyone would be pulling down a cool $100 grand a year each, and everyone would be solidly middle class. Poverty would be eliminated in the stroke of a pen!

$100/hour sounds good.
Of course in the era of Baraqqi/Bernanke/Geithner minibucks, a hamburger will cost $100.

So, they don’t think that anyone who can’t produce at least $9.80 worth of goods and services has a right to a job.

Instant job loss. Employers will do with eight employees when they really needed 12.

Bump. I’ve read articles in the past documenting how low wage jobs are lost when the minimum is raised.

There is no Constitutional authorization for these people to be monkeying around with this.

Get rid of them...their stupidity grows greater everyday.
Timing people, timing.

Once again, for the hundredth time, the only real reason to increase the minimum wage is that all government employees contracts (union) are tied to a baseline above minimum wage. ie, a postal worker is paid a base wage of X above minimum wage as their contracts are negotiated. So an incease of minimum wage is an immediate raise for every government worker.
Got any questions?

If you go to Wash DC, at least the section near the WH and Capitol, all the working peeps are guys in $1000 dollar suits and women in $400 dresses and skirts.
So it’s very easy to understand they’d have little concept of what minimum wage help even looks like or can accomplish.
To: Free ThinkerNY
No doubt they’ll say that “we” want to give workers a raise. How very easy it must be to spend other people’s money.

Interesting that they couldn’t find any takers in Albany - so they try to dump this crap on the entire country.
Good luck!!!
