Hi connie.
Mozart: Quartet for Oboe and Strings in F, K. 370
Nathan Hughes, oboe
Amy Schwartz Moretti, violin
Che-Yen Chen, viola
Julie Albers, cello
Mozart had a lifelong love affair with the oboe, to include a wonderful concerto for that instrument. This little chamber work is beautiful and a lot of fun.
Mendelssohn: Sonata for Cello and Piano in B-flat, Op. 45
Andres Diaz, cello
Anton Nel, piano
This is a pleasant piece and worth a listen.
Andres Diaz is the head honcho at the Curtis School of Music in Philadelphia. Anton Nel teaches at the University of Texas at Austin, and I love talking piano with him.
Schulhoff: Duo for Violin and Cello
Emily Daggett Smith, violin
Robert deMaine, cello
Erwin Schulhoff had one of those unlucky lives. First the Nazis put him in a concentration camp, and then after the war the Soviets put him in the gulag. Bad karma. Im not a fan of this composer.
Bartok: Contrasts for Clarinet, Violin and Piano, Sz. 111
Ricardo Morales, clarinet
James Ehnes, violin
Andrew Armstrong, piano
Bela Bartok wrote this piece for Benny Goodman, and he was the first to perform it. This should be interesting.
Just a bit early tonight....the Olympics are coming!!

(HUGS)
I've never watched the Olympics. In fact I'm not much of a sports fan. It doesn't appeal to me. More fun here.

I don't have anything planned for tonight. Next Friday I'll be in bed early due to a Freedom Works training session Saturday morning for our local Tea Party. I have to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for that. I'm the technical person who has to use MS/Access to massage our data for the "Get Out the Vote" effort.
I'm not sure what to do next. I've done the British pop songwriters of the late Sixties. I've done the Brill Building composers in detail. I even did a four week retrospective of Brahms. Everything began with the letter "B".
Ms. Behavin suggested I try the letter "C", and she suggested Chopin. That might not be a bad idea. He wrote mostly short piano pieces, so it's not a drain on the attention span.
I have to give the next project some thought.
All Hands, turn to and rise up!
Ok Doll....you got me stumped with this one. Are we inspecting barracks? LOL
How's the garden coming...any harvesting yet? *Hugs*
