A 60-year-old man was taken into police custody after co-workers found photographs of Colorado Batman massacre suspect James Holmes 'all over his desk' and computer worktop.
Officers from the New York Police Department traveled to the unnamed man's Brooklyn, New York, home and confronted him where he allegedly told them that he was obsessed with Holmes.
The man told them that Holmes reminded him of himself as a younger man and that he had sympathies for the accused Aurora shooter because he didn't like his co-workers either...

So he was arrested for something that never happened? Right out of “Minority Report”.
Arrested? For what? Being stupid?
The damned democrats are coming totally unglued!!
Now it’s against the law to have pictures of Holmes?
What was he charged with?
Thoughtcrime.
The people who arrested him are indeed mental midgets, but this guy does seem to be even dumber than his captors.
What is he charged with? He sounds loopy, but nothing mentioned in the story rises to the level of a crime.
And after this guy kills someone, everyone will be screaming “Why did you ignore the warning signs, why didn’t someone do something about him....”.
Would they have arrested him if he were equally "obsessed" with quadruple number of people shot dead in Chicago this month?
Hey people, I agree that he should has committed no crime, but it IS strange to be obsessed with a mass murderer and empathize with him. This guy may be calling out for help. Do we wait until he does something bad, or work with him to get to the bottom of his obsession?
He wasn’t charged with anything. The “arrest” was to take him for a psych evaluation.
As far as I’m concerned, leaving pictures of a recent mass murderer all over your desk at work, coupled with odd comments and behavior does constitute the required ‘possibility of being a danger to yourself or others’ required to force a psych evaluation.
I’d want any co-worker of mine who did the same to be dragged-in for an evaluation because that is extremely disturbing behavior.
New York City Police also found several of these in his apartment!
Exactly.
Thought police.
Holy Shinola, you people are completely compulsive, narrow minded doltz! Most of you didn't even read the story before jumping to conclusions!
Allegedly making a lunge at the police while they were in his apartment, the man had been drinking and had taken prescription medication according to law enforcement sources.
Ya think they had a good reason to arrest him now?? No wonder liberals think we're all dumbasses!
Is that illegal?
When did they make stupidity a crime?
The guy’s an idiot, but I don’t see where he did anything actually illegal.
There isn’t some hidden rule in the Obamacare bill that was invoked here, is there?
Afte reading the article, it seems that he wasn’t arested and charged at all, but that after the cops arrived and found him drunk and belligerent, they took him to Bellevue nuthouse for psychiatric evaluation.
So the headline is a lie?
