It all started when president and COO Dan Cathy made statements against gay marriage. and now, things have ramped up into a national debate.
Rev. Billy Graham, the legendary evangelical minister, has now entered the fray, coming to the aid of Chick-fil-A.
The 93-year-old is against gay marriage, and has been strangely polarizing lately. Earlier this year, he publicly endorsed a constitutional amendment to ban it in North Carolina.

So where did this “gay civil right” come from and what is is good for? Its a stupid dumb view not to be taken seriously by anyone of any intelligence. If Christians believe this they should quit calling themselves Christians because they clearly aren’t smart enough to know what the hell they are.
Same here. Grahm has managed to maintan an admirable faith while others found disagrace not that I would minimize the level of attack that evil levies against men of God and me in high places.
He’s a great man and still a rather humble man. He has stood up for his principles and prevailed and been blessed beyond belief. He is the anthesis to the idea that one has to sell their soul or lie cheat and steal to become great.

It sounds like the reporter is strangely moronic.
When the churches began to experience political power in the early 20th century, they felt the temptation to use that power for all kinds of things. From prohibition to the black Civil Rights era. Some where good, some bad, many had nothing to do with the Gospel.
But, they allowed certain groups to take up the mantel of “civil rights” for just about every cause. Be it illegal immigration or gay rights.
This says it all. When Billy Graham was born, you could be locked up for being gay, or if people found out you were gay, they would view you as some sick deviant and might try to kill you. There was not one Demoract in Congress who would even think of gay marriage, much less support it. Hell, there probably wasn't one Democrat in Congress who didn't think that gays should be locked up.
But now the social debate has moved very, very, very far to the Left. Now people who support what EVERYONE supported even 20 or 30 years ago are considered strangely polarizing. Its as if everyone is required to jump on the Leftist bandwagon at the same time or else they are vilified.
I'm not saying gays should be locked up or vilified. I am happy we live in a world where that doesn't happen anymore. But to say that those who support a traditional religious (not just Christian) view of marriage are strange and polarizing is laughable and sad.
“but Im also stunned by the overt harshness and barely concealed threat behind their words.”
It will just keep getting worse. When someone is given over to depravity (like homosexuality) they intrinsically know that they are wrong, so they scream even louder they are “right” trying to convince themselves. Should Billy start speaking out against extra-marital sex as the immorality it is, he would catch even more flak. Which, by the way, is one of the underlying reasons that many are taking a ho-hum attitude towards homosexuality. So many today are committing hetereosexual immorality they can’t get that upset with homosexual immorality.
We strive to preserve marraige, but even in the hetereosexual community it is not honored. Either they live together unmarried or they marry and unmarry at the drop of a hat. Currently, there are more heterosexaul couples unmarried in America than those that are married. Amoung heterosexuals, marriage is becoming a minority.
Oh, the “fundamentalist” Mormons in Utah are now sueing for the right to have their marriages legal. I knew this would follow the legalization of homosexual unions. It will keep going down hill until the God Lord has mercy on us and causes us to wake up and repent (change our ways).
I will only speak for myself, but I recognize how badly stained I am by the current sexual standards of this country. Yes, I am married and “faithful” to my wife, but is my heart truly faithful? Have I not myself been corrupted with bad attitudes and lax thinking and carelessness as to what I expose my eyes and mind to. Yes, I must confess I have. So, I include myself in the category of those requiring a “wake up” call. May God so grant that call.
The debate has went so far beyond simply living and let living. Mostly Americans did exactly that even from the time of the founding. Homosexuality was usually ‘found out’ in the context of molestation and was considered rightly a disorder. It still has the hallmarks of a disorder but the role of molestation in sexual imprinting of homosexuals can not even be discussed politely or researched seriously without outbursts by gay activists trying to shut the research down. What we are seeing is what the future will hold for anyone who dares disagree with the ‘Pink Hand’.
