It all started when president and COO Dan Cathy made statements against gay marriage. and now, things have ramped up into a national debate.
Rev. Billy Graham, the legendary evangelical minister, has now entered the fray, coming to the aid of Chick-fil-A.
The 93-year-old is against gay marriage, and has been strangely polarizing lately. Earlier this year, he publicly endorsed a constitutional amendment to ban it in North Carolina.

“Graham has traditionally stayed away from “thorny social issues” for years, so this should raise some eyebrows. It’s just not like him.”
Billy Graham for foremost an evangelist interested in converting unbelievers to believers. He avoided social issues because he felt, right of wrong, that they detracted from his primary purpose. Also, he believed (and I understand this), if a person is converted, they will no longer see homosexuality, abortion, etc. as OK.
Now that he no longer crusades, he is just saying what he has always felt. It can no longer detract from his ministry and may leave him with an even better legacy.
I am glad to see him do this. I was so distressed back in the Monica Lewinsky scandal that he didn’t speak out against Bill Clinton and his immoral behavior. It was almost, in my perception, like he didn’t mind. Of course, I know he didn’t really feel that way. However, it did upset me at the time.
I wished there was a Chic-A-Filet in my area....I would be sure to give them my business. I used to eat at one in a previous location where I lived. I always admired how they would stay closed on Sundays and it didn’t hurt their bottom line.
Will do...
“Polarizing?”
Hey, the state can do whatever it wants, it won’t make it a marriage
And since when do a person’s religious beliefs disqualify him from doing business in America?
That’s a fella.
Newsrooms have more gays than conservatives...
Tru dat!
What is really happening is Nazi Germany. Anyone associated with God or what not is deprived of his rights. It’s like when friends of jews were sent to the death camps. The gays are doing the same thing.
Good for Graham.
It’s time someone stood up for straights.
Newsrooms were stolen the way the gays are trying to steal the label ChickAFilet. The only thing Obama won’t let them quite steal are the gun business... and that is very interesting because that means gays ultimately, like blacks, are slated to the government plantation.
Good grief. Since when did this become a “social issue” in their tiny minds? It’s a moral issue, and he has every right and in fact the duty to say what he wants about it.
Also, why has it suddenly become completely verboten to utter even the mildest disagreement on this subject? I’m stunned at how fast the left and the press are moving to enforce their latest idiocy (”gay marriage”), but I’m also stunned by the overt harshness and barely concealed threat behind their words.
This world hated THE Perfect Man, who healed the sick. Who fed the starving. He restored sight to the blind. He even brought the dead to life. HE was the greatest man to ever live. One problem. He told men they were sinners and needed to be saved from the punishment of sin. This world Crucified and nailed him to a cross because of it. Amazingly, they did not Take His life. He Gave His life an atonement for Sin. God’s great plan of salvation. Christ died to save sinners.
He was a polarizing figure. Christians living lives committed to Christ and His message will be polarizing. Thank God for Cathy and his stand.
Eat mor chicken!!!!!!

“They” get in your face, wanting more and more and more.
Yet pushing back is the “polarizing” bunch
I guess the author missed the news about millions with HIV/AIDS/STDs . .worldwide, including children and babies.
Yet Dr Graham is the “polarizer”
Crazy mixed up world.
According to his (her?) bio: “ Kim Bhasin is a reporter at Business Insider covering retail, restaurants and consumer goods.” Does this publication have a shortage of qualified, informed journalists?
At any rate, Billy Graham has never wavered in his faith, values, or morals. The left just cannot comprehend this. Bless their hearts.
You're right about this livius - it's not a social issue - it's a moral issue.
Look closer at the bio. The body of it refers to Kim as “he”.
It is hard to attack a guy who spent most of his life evangelizing, and no doubt caring deeply about people.
Sadly Billy Gram also spent time supporting those who were against God. Such as Bill and Hillary. He once said that Hillary would make a great president.
It is about time that he take a stand not only on Evangelism, but on the real world around him. Many of the people who were “Saved” under his watch- Fell away due to the Hypocrisy of Christian leaders. I am glad to see him speaking out.
Lots of pictures on the source thread.
There is a view that Christians MUST support gays since it is civil rights.
