A Milwaukee County jury on Tuesday found a gun rights activist not guilty of carrying a concealed weapon when she parked outside a closed Milwaukee coffee shop last fall to use its Wi-Fi signal.
Krysta Sutterfield, 43, dropped her shoulders and hung her head as the verdict was read about 30 minutes after deliberations began. Later she wiped her brow and hugged her attorney. She had faced up to nine months in jail.
"She feels vindicated," attorney Rebecca Coffee said. Sutterfield declined to comment.
It was the second time her gun-wearing habit had gotten her arrested, and the second time she avoided conviction.
The Milwaukee nursing student and firearms safety instructor made national news in 2010 when she was arrested after openly wearing her gun to a Brookfield church service. No formal charges were filed and Sutterfield later won a $7,500 settlement from the city on her false arrest claim.

If the copette had been made suspicious by the person in the car wearing (gasp) a HOODIE, she would have faced the wrath of the “civil rights industry” and later dismissed from the force.

Hmmm. So I guess in this case profiling is OK. Though I do wonder if that same training indicates that the person with an NRA sticker on their vehicle is less likely to use their firearm against the police than say, a criminal who is carrying with no NRA sticker.
I do not envy your task. With every encounter you must make quick decisions. Like the officer in question, those decisions are based on experience and training.
The conflict between political correctness and training might create a dilemma because political correctness might influence others not even involved to bring legal charges for the decision.
The creeping liberalism adjusts the law to fit their values. Those values are increasingly flawed in practice.
Case in point.....running away. If you run you could be shot. Getting shot will cause running away to avoid apprehension come to an end.
There you go, you went and used the "p"-word!
Thank you for the sane reasoning. The reality was the opposite for this citizen, and that is incredulous.
Thanks, brent13a, for that perspective—it’s one I had not considered.
