I've always lived by the MLK adage of judging people by character. I also thought that someday a truly talented and patriotic black leader would emerge to bring unity to the country. (I always admired the strong character role played by Dennis Haysbert as President in the first "24" season)

What I didn't like about Obama once I sensed his insincerity was that he would cause racial strife and possibly set us back as far as being able to respect a qualified black candidate. It seems I may have been right.

I also hoped that a conservative black would have the ability to make a greater percentage of the black population realize how they have been mislead by liberal political marketing and come to believe in their own self worth rather than government reliance. It now looks like that outcome will be a long time coming.
