Mother of James Holmes Says She Didn’t Tell ABC Her Son Was the Killer [Updated](ABC lies AGAIN)

During the chaotic aftermath of the Colorado shooting on Friday, a particularly chilling moment came when ABC News spoke to the mother of suspect James Holmes by phone. The network reported that the woman, reached in California, "told ABC News her son was likely the alleged culprit, saying, 'You have the right person.'" The article also said that Holmes's mother was "apparently speaking on gut instinct" when she "immediately expressed concern her son may be involved in the shooting death of at least 12 people overnight."

Today, she disputed that account, claiming her quotes were misused. If true, that would be ABC's second big screwup within the same story. [Update: ABC stands by its reporting; see below.]

"This statement is to clarify a statement made by ABC media," said Holmes today through her lawyer, Lisa Damiani. "I was awakened by a call from a reporter by ABC on July 20 about 5:45 in the morning. I did not know anything about a shooting in Aurora at that time. He asked if I was Arlene Holmes and if my son was James Holmes who lives in Aurora, Colorado. I answered, 'Yes, you have the right person.' I was referring to myself.

I asked him to tell me why he was calling and he told me about a shooting in Aurora. He asked for a comment. I told him I could not comment because I did not know if the person he was talking about was my son, and I would need to find out."

I agree with your assessment. Not matter WHAT she was alluding to in her initial statement to ABC, there's no doubt that the public defenders have swooped down on her and told her to "clarify" the statement as it can be construed as harmful to her son....and also to clear it up if and when she ever goes under oath.

The mother has an "agenda" (a natural instinct to protect her son), ABC has an agenda (a natural MSM instinct to destroy the conservative movement), the public defenders have an agenda (to protect their client).......leaving only the agenda of the perp which is as yet unknown.

It is worth noting that the lawyer for the family first checked with ABC to see if they had a recording of the conversation before challenging ABC’s version of the conversation.

I was sceptical of ABC’s version of what the mom said from the beginning. It sounded far fetched. “you got the right person” is a common phrase used when someone is asking questions over the phone and you are confirming identification.

At first I thought she was backtracking, but if they called her in the early morning, waking her up, that changes things. She was apparently groggy and didn’t know what was going on.

I think your theory is a bit far fetched. However, there are several points to consider, who was on the phone and opened the door. Also what happened when the shooter exited?

Most movie theater complexes have security cameras on site.

Sneaking in the movies (via the exit) is a long-standing problem. Was there a camera pointed at the exit door from the outside?

Additionally, there is a problem with crooks breaking into cars at movie theaters. Were there cameras pointed at the parking lot?

We probably are not being told all of the details in this massacre.

When the Tampa teen terrorist stole and crashed a plane in the wake of 9-11, we were ASSURED it wasn't terrorism and that he was even a member of the Young Republicans at school. Except his real name came out afterwards (Charles Bishra, not just Charles Bishop) and he had a suicide note calling it a "terrorist act" that he was engaging in and pledged support to Bin Laden.

The letter was suppressed until after the Superbowl probably because of his empty bomb threat against the game.

We know that the authorties have lied to us in the recent past and withheld details.

Meanwhile, he's still being referred to as a suspect. Hope they got the right guy.

Two questions uppermost in my mind are: WHO is the man with the phone. Also, since the shooter was identified by Corbin Dates as a man who was 5'8” to 5'9”, and Holmes is 6'3”, Who is the shooter? The shooter wore a mask, and his face was NEVER seen as he continued to shoot people. And yes, did cameras pick up any image of Holmes IN the theatre at any time? He was found OUTSIDE of the theatre. And will we ever find out the truth as to whether the police have proof that Holmes bought a ticket and is on camera somewhere INSIDE the theatre.

The eyewitness description of both of these men cannot be ignored...I pray that someone digs deep into this story for the truth, and that We the People learn the truth. But, I won't hold my breath til then.

I’m not interested in video on who entered with tickets. If there is video of the EXIT, it would be important to know who entered/exited.

Also, did ANYONE run cellphone video? Those things are everywhere these days?

Or do people only text/talk in theaters on phones these days?

Some theaters even have cameras set up internally to catch those videoing movies off the screen.

Those with common sense attempted to tell others as far back as last Saturday, this was no big deal, and the Mother was likely just confirming who she was, or confirming this was her son when asked.

Others jumped on this believing every word the media said and assumed the mother knew her son was capable of evil, mass murder etc...

It was just bizarre how hysterical people became when hearing that, assuming the Mom knew this would happen, but remained silent.

Imagine being woken up by getting a phone call at 5:45 in the morning by some ABC reporter who starts asking you questions about mass shooting in Colorado that you know nothing about. Then he asks “Is your name Arlene Holmes and do you have son named James Holmes who lives in Aurora, Colorado?” and you answer, ‘Yes, you have the right person”, meaning that “yes” that is my name and “yes” that is the name of my son.

When pressed for further details, she told the reporter “I need to call the police. I need to fly to Colorado.” mostly likely meaning “I need to call the police to find out exactly what’s going on” and I need to get to Colorado, perhaps not that she immediately thought her son was the shooter but perhaps thought that he may be among those injured.

I can’t imagine what was going through her mind during that call and neither can any of us.

If the police state that Holmes bought a ticket and entered the theatre, I AM interested in seeing the proof that he did so, be it video or a ticket stub. There is no concrete proof that Holmes actually entered the theatre. The shooter who walked through the exit door had a mask on his face AND was 5'8-5'9” tall, and Holmes is 6'3”. Holmes very well may have been waiting outside the propped up exit door next to where he parked his car, (where he eventually was found and arrested by the police after the shooting) There, Holmes would be waiting for the shooter to run out of the theatre, exchange his gear and guns with Holmes, and the shooter would then be whisked away in a car by yet another accomplice. Remember, the Soros shooter could be traced back to Soros, so it was important for him to be whisked away, and Holmes to assume the role of shooter when found. Holmes has a clean record of no connection to OWS or any other radical group...he was recruited by Soros operatives to act as the patsy, the one who was “responsible” for the shooting..and as a schizophrenic, delusional, he fell for it. He would now become someone, instead of a loser. Also remember that oboma was caught in Fast and Furious..he could not be caught with his fingerprints on this shooting..so Soros was responsible for devising the plan, providing the manpower (there is no proof that Holmes could handle the weapons involved..the police did say that Holmes was not proficient with guns.)

This shooting was devised to garner sympathy for gun control and the loss of our rights to own and bear arms...oboma needs to disarm us, We the People, who “cling to our religion and guns,” as oboma has said. These socialists/communists/marxists/revolutionaries/sharia loving thugs in our government are vile, very dangerous and hell bent on completing their mission of “fundamentally transforming” this country into another Cuba at the least and China at the worst.
