I hunted rabbits in high school with my dad's old bolt action .22LR. Since then, I acquired many other firearms. All of them of been used as precision paper punches. It's a hobby and entertainment. My paper punching has no impact on any other person. The FFL makes some money on my purchases. The range organization gets an annual stipend for my access. I wouldn't mind reducing prairie dog populations in the Spring, but I have even had time for that.

When I was a young teenager our family from around he state gathered for Thanksgiving. While the turkey was cooking, my Dad took my a brother and me and three cousins up into the nearby hills, taught us basic gun safety, then gave us all the opportunity to knock the empty tin cans off the log. I’m a little old lady now, but I still get appreciative glances at the range when I shoot out the center of my target with my pistol.
