Nearly two decades before the Aurora Colorado massacre, an assault weapon-toting madmans massacre of eight people inside the 101 California highrise in San Francisco sent shock waves around the nation.
In the aftermath of that bloody day in 1993, California U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein became a leader in calling for an assault weapons ban.
This week, 19 years to the month later, Feinstein is speaking out on assault weapons, calling for a national conversation about their dangers though she admits that politically, any reforms are unlikely to happen.
Weapons of war dont belong on the streets, she said Sunday. Feinstein expressed deep concern about Colorado gunman James Holmes use of large magazines and assault weapons to shoot dozens and kill 12 in a matter of minutes. These are weapons that youre only going to be using to kill people in close combat, she told Fox News Sunday.

It has been 'rumored' that at one time 'someone' taped Di-Fi's CA office staff - They stated Di-Fi carried an 'automatic' pistol (semi-auto) Di-Fi's sandbagged staffer quickly said: No she doesn't! She carries a revolver! (true - a S&W .357 Magnum revolver at that time) It is 'rumored' that several gun rights groups have copies of that audiotape..... Keep it up Diane - and you will be listening to that audiotape on FNC! |
When I was a young teenager our family from around he state gathered for Thanksgiving. While the turkey was cooking, my Dad took my a brother and me and three cousins up into the nearby hills, taught us basic gun safety, then gave us all the opportunity to knock the empty tin cans off the log. I’m a little old lady now, but I still get appreciative glances at the range when I shoot out the center of my target with my pistol.
A nice family tradition. My family enjoys trips to the range too. Keep it in the X ring :-)
